    1. From the article: President Donald Trump took to social media Friday to celebrate the cancellation of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” a move critics allege was retaliation for Colbert’s accusation that parent company Paramount paid Trump in a settlement to secure support for a merger.

“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social Friday. “His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”

While CBS, part of its parent company Paramount, has said the show’s cancellation was “purely a financial decision,” many critics have pointed to recent comments by Colbert on his show as being the likely instigator for the decision.

Paramount is looking to close a merger with the company Skydance, a controversial merger that would require the Trump administration’s approval. In an unrelated lawsuit between Paramount and Trump, Paramount recently agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle the case, a decision Colbert called “a big fat bribe.”

Colbert’s late night colleague Jimmy Kimmel, also named by Trump Friday as having “even less talent than Colbert,” responded to the news by writing “f— you and all your Sheldons CBS
” in a social media post on Instagram, referencing CBS’ show “Young Sheldon,” a spinoff of its sister show “The Big Bang Theory.”

It should be noted this keeps him on the air through NEXT MAY.

Not sure Trump is going to like the direction this goes. Colbert unfettered “what are you going to do, fire me?”

Kinda surprised Trump isn’t more obsessed with Seth. He’s very political on his show.

    4. And a few redditors in other threads saying this wasn’t because of politics

From the shape he’s in donny may not be around to see Colbert’s last CBS show.

    6. These people are so out of touch they think getting fired from CBS is a big deal. He will go on to the next gig bigger and badder than ever.

Remember to boycott the businesses that advertise on CBS.

If you really care, that is.

You know what I think? They should gather millions and millions of people from all 50 states & sit outside the White House gates until Oompa Loompa doopity dope resigns. Porta potties, camper vans, signs, etc.

      I’d love to see it.

I just emailed Paramount and told them they lost my business for life.

    10. All politicians and all other media need to be slamming CBS non stop and we should boycott them and paramount.

We all need to cancel paramount plus and let them know why and it is due to this and the pay off they gave trump. I did today! Sometimes the only way to get through to this kind of crap, is to cut off the flow of money.

    12. I canceled my Paramount+ subscription because of CVS getting on their knees and putting Trump’s balls in their mouth

    13. This seals it for the 1st Amendment. Freedom of speech, the press now no longer guaranteed. Now, what’s the Amendment after the 1st again?
Use it or lose it, people!!

    14. If people were watching and it was bringing in revenue then it wouldn’t have been an easy target to get cancelled.

    15. Honestly, we should drive up the ratings of his show and then abandon it after Colbert is gone. CBS will feel that next year during fall sweeps.

Am I crazy or is this a bad move by this admin lol? We have YouTube dude… Colbert can easily pivot to a podcast style show that can fill the void. Or HBO will grab him for a one two combo with Oliver.

As with all bullies, they gloat in the moment and seldom see the ramifications of their actions. If they think they are silencing Colbert, who is one of the most celebrated comedians of our time with almost unmatched wit, I think they have another thing coming.

    17. Imagine being the fuckin president of USA, and still being this hateful. Pathétique.
