The term ‘exchanging sex for money’ is very problematic in respect of a child. She is a victim of sexual exploitation.

I wouldn’t mind but even the level of care some of the children do get it they had a place is scandalous. Tulsa pay private companies outrageous money to house the children, these set ups are unregulated. There were cases of kids having to sleep on mattresses. Two companies were dropped after an audit found they were making up their own Garda vetting for staff. Then there was a case where one of the private companies were asking Tulsa to take a migrant girl into one of their own facilities as she was being targeted by groomers in their residence. Tulsa did nothing about it and the company had to organise themselves for the girl to go somewhere else to get away from the people trying to groom her.
Not providing the care these kids need is going to create some very fucked up adults in the future for the government to not deal with again.

„Secure“ beds are juvenile detention centres. The ‚care‘ system is fucked and does more damage than good.
With all the money they are spending on literally everything else and they want us to believe that they couldn’t find secure beds for them it’s downright disgraceful
This is very common in low income areas. I think most people in this country are very naiive to the reality faced by the people they call dole monkeys

It’s very difficult to keep these teenagers away from substances or the bad influence characters as they cannot be detained. They are free to abscond and the cycle repeats itself. They may commit crimes to feed a habit but with Oberstown regularly full, they cannot even be detained there.
Some of the most troubled teenagers need to be placed in a facility that detains them for long enough to get them clean & break the link with those who abuse them & ply them with drugs. And then look at rehabilitation into society.
i was a child in care, right up until my 18th birthday. i was in a private residential. can confirm tusla and everyone involved is SHIT. left one traumatic up bringing just to go to another

Almost like the government shouldn’t be giving housing for people coming here as that’s a choice and focus on Irish people that need help. Hmmmmmmm
