Used to live in Gare – incessant noise from drunkards / junkies (they do need to be somewhere).
Then Grund – intolerable tourists blocking my door and partying til the wee hours.
Then Limpertsberg – this was nice until covid when all junkies decided to take over Limpertsberg and quite a few people were pickpocketed in Kinneksswiss.
Now Route d’Arlon where Sunday is the only day when traffic does not keep you awake.
I guess this is why so many Luxembourgers live up north ?

It’s a small country somehow you have to fit everything in it. Luxembourg has also beautiful nature, which is fortunately protected.
With growing population is inevitable. I don’t have the solution for the airport, but the obvious solution for traffic would be reorganization of the bus system so that you don’t have to spend 1,5 hour to get to the place, when by car it takes you 15 minutes. Don’t know what’s possible in this regard.

I just think people have become more sensible in general. Especially after covid. Don‘t live near plane route and you‘re golden. My in laws live under a path where planes are preparing to land or circle before landing and it gets loud sometimes, especially when it‘s Cargolux, but it‘s not that bad.
Ylu know what‘s really annoying? That motherfucker with his Huracan STO who lives in Bascharage too. I‘m a car guy trough and through, but also a dad and i need none of his shenanigans at night. He‘s already racing trough the main street all day, no need to wake up kids at night with his bullshit driving. I‘ll take living in Cents/ Hamm over this all day.

1970 Luxair got their first jet. Back in the day turbines were lot louder than nowadays yet people keep moving and building right around the airport.
Geoportail has air surveillance pictures from the 60s showing how sparsely the surroundings were populated…
