Based on what SpaceX has done over the last couple of years I will call scramjet launch vehicles a dead end. Vertical landing works very well and doesn’t require any new technology. A lower stage can provide a similar boost as scramjets while avoiding having to carry extra mass to orbit. Even if this skylon 2.0 works it might be killed by the costs of the maintenance.

Amazing! Glad to see something come out of the SABRE program rather than just the precooler! Will be keeping an eye on this
