Reminds me of [this](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49563357) when Johnson expelled 21 of his own MPs. Lucky he called an election 3 months later so he got himself a loyal backbench, not so sure if Starmer can call an election 3 months later.

Oh look another purge. At this point I dont know why more Conservatives arent defecting to Labour instead of Reform. Labour is the most competent conservative government we’ve had in years.

how about labour suspends Keir Starmer, for being an obvious plant.

It’s funny how people called Corbyn a socialist/communist but we ended up with ~~Stalin~~ Starmer, hijacking the Labour Party to his own ends and ideology.
Current number of Labour MPs: ~~400~~ 399 (to be updated)

He’s captured the Labour Party, purged the left and created a second Tory party. If he thinks we’ll vote for him just to keep Farage out, he can shove it up his arse.

Has there ever been a government who suspended enough of their MPs to no longer be the majority party?
It would be hilarious if Labour did that.

There’s probably space in the green party or Corbyns party for these MPs

The purges have resumed and will continue until you get behind the Glorious Leader and what the PLP want to do.

Is he stupid? He can control the left if they stay inside the party and are given small concessions, like Blair did. By chucking them all out he is inviting them to challenge Labour at the next election in the new Corbyn/Sultana party.

Ethics about the policy aside, this is just extremely stupid politics from Starmer. The fallout from the welfare bill had just about died down in the media and he’s just dropped it back into the news cycle.
He’s so unbelievably bad at this.

really is incredible how bad the sensible adult in the room is at optics, given that’s basically all he has to offer

You will respect Lex Luthor..i mean Keir Starmer or be purged!

Unless something big comes out as a reason this comes off as pathetic and short sighted.

If I was polling jointly with a party that hadn’t even launched yet made up of MPs I’d previously fucked out of the party, I’d simply consider not removing the whip from a load more of them.

Whatever else about Blair but I’m pretty sure they never suspended anybody for voting against them.

Yeah if Maskell isn’t a Labour member I am never voting for Labour again. Good on my MP for listening to her constituents. ❤️

Another Purge for a „leader“ that’s drowning in his caca.

Nobody is talking about the optics here. Labour has suspended MP’s for sticking up for *DISABLED* people.
Can nobody see what they’re doing to an entire protected group of vulnerable people?? How is this what Labour suspended MP’s over?

The late David Graeber, as prescient as always, in 2020:
„the Labour Party under Starmer will abandon its core idealism & principles and it won’t even gain tactical advantage. It will be a party which gives no one a reason to vote for it, and no one will, in fact, vote for it.“

They love to bang on about the Labour party being a ‚broad church‘, but only as long as you take those differences, shove them up your arse, and do what Kier says.
His leadership skills are absolutely atrocious.

Pathetic, weak and anti-democratic.
If this guy is still in charge in 3 years Labour will be done for for another decade at least.

He waits until after the last PMQs of the term to do this and avoid scrutiny.
Such a worm.
