    1. She’s not Barbie. Barbie is attractive.

Noem is mentally ill and thinks no one can tell.

[DHS Head Noem Prioritized Instagram Pics Over FEMA Requests for Texas Floods](https://truthout.org/articles/dhs-head-noem-prioritized-instagram-pics-over-fema-requests-for-texas-floods/)

      >Noem, whose department oversees FEMA’s work, issued a new agency rule this year requiring all contracts and grants costing over $100,000 to be personally approved by her. As floodwaters were rising in Texas, Noem failed to respond to such requests over the weekend, taking four days to approve the spending that could have saved lives.

Noem — who frequently shares social media posts of her dressing in the same garb as other DHS agents — did take the time to post on her Instagram account on Sunday a few potential options for her official portrait as a former governor of South Dakota, The Daily Beast reported, asking her followers which image was their favorite.

      >On the same day Noem had asked her followers to weigh in on her portrait, President Donald Trump deflected questions from reporters on his administration’s response to the Texas floods, including questions on whether cuts to the National Weather Service (NWS) had affected efforts to warn residents.

[After Delaying FEMA Response for Three Days, Noem Calls to ‚Eliminate‘ Agency Due to Slow Texas Response](https://www.commondreams.org/news/noem-fema-delays)

      >U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem renewed her call Wednesday to „eliminate“ the Federal Emergency Management Agency, calling it „slow to respond“ to the deadly floods that have killed more than 120 people in Texas over the past week.

      >But that „slow“ response was the direct result of a policy put in place by Noem herself, according to four FEMA officials who spoke to CNN.

[The New York Times report finding thousands of victims couldn’t get through to FEMA as catastrophic flooding engulfed Central Texas.](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/11/climate/fema-missed-calls-texas-floods.html)

      >Two days after catastrophic floods roared through Central Texas, the Federal Emergency Management Agency did not answer nearly two-thirds of calls to its disaster assistance line, according to documents reviewed by The New York Times.

      >The lack of responsiveness happened because the agency had fired hundreds of contractors at call centers, according to a person briefed on the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss internal matters.

      >The agency laid off the contractors on July 5 after their contracts expired and were not extended, according to the documents and the person briefed on the matter. Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, who has instituted a new requirement that she personally approve expenses over $100,000, did not renew the contracts until Thursday, five days after the contracts expired. FEMA is part of the Department of Homeland Security.

If you are the boss, and especially if you implement micro-manager bullshit rules, you need to reply to urgent work emails within hours, not days later.

Department of homeland security is a hundred billion dollar 260,000 employee organisation.

It’s a real job with serious responsibilities and we are only at the start of hurricane season, the start of a 4 year term.

And Trump seems to want to kill FEMA entirely.

If Trump and Kristi Noem keep going like this we will get another Hurricane Katrina level disaster.

We should be asking tough questions because these are warning signs and when a worse disaster hits the USA will not be prepared.

    4. I still don’t understand why she isn’t being prosecuted, until I realize that no one in Trump’s administration will be prosecuted for negligence.

    5. Rages. Again. GOP destroys our world while Dems read shit DailyBeast and Newsweek trash.

    6. Filling cabinet positions with underqualified individuals is bound to elicit some form of negative payback.

I saw her Meet the Press interview and she looked like a robot. Her eyes blinked and her mouth moved but the rest of her face never moved.

When DARVO doesn’t work on your manipulation victims even after doubling and tripling down, rage is all that’s left. We’re at that point. But for her sake, at least she’s not included in the Epstein saga. So she’s got that going for her.

    9. I think she’s a nutcase but why is „ICE barbie“ a thing? It sounds incredibly sexist.

    10. Being called a barbie is a compliment to most white women. We were raised as barbie as the ultimate beauty ideal. So these types of headlines only inflate the ego of the women they are currently describing as barbie this and that.

She’s a sociopath. Unfortunately, that’s a plus point in this administration.
