      >Thatcher Fest will begin in her home town on 13 October and will include a drag show

      Pffft

    2. Hey greatest accomplishment was proving that women can be as bad at politics as men.

No pinata in the shape of a coal miner?

No hook a child’s milk carton away from them?

      No Irish civilian shooting gallery?

Honestly they no respect for our great politicians. Hopefully they will have soft serve at least.

But on a serious note, this seems like bait to get people wound up, create a controversy and then you’ll get a dozen daily mail telegraph articles on this sub about people hating free speech and violent left or some other bollocks.

    4. > Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho, 13 October: A drag show starring Matt Tedford as The Iron Lady, reimagining the evening of the Section 28 vote with Thatcher getting lost in Soho and accidentally becoming a cabaret singer.

To be fair that’s definitely an *interesting* way to confront her shitty legacy.

    5. That’s a shame. I was looking forward to the throwing bricks at poor people event in her honour.

    6. “Quite A Centenary, 17 October: Hosted by TV personality, author and former MP Gyles Brandreth, celebrating three British icons – Margaret Thatcher, Elizabeth II and Winnie the Pooh.”

This has to be a wind up, right?

    7. As for refreshments, will they be getting children to walk around with trays of milk?

i heard people complaining that glastonbury was too woke (or that they liked it before it was political). This alternative sounds great!

No one gonna mention the drag show? That’s gonna cause a stir with the Boomers and Gen Xers

When she took over, the UK was fundamentally broken.

When she left, the UK was on a path to success.
There was then near 20 good years, throughout the 90’s, into the financial crash.

She hurt a lot of people.

      But she helped more.

The UK needs fundamental reform again – and avoiding the pain that goes with reforming is why we’re stagnating now.

If it’s not a hate parade against her, I don’t want to hear it

    15. Thatcher. The reason we live in a free for all, grifting, corrupt, sharholder dividend paying hell hole today.

    16. A _drag show_ at a „Thatcher Festival“ (what a cliquey weird bunch of codswallop), seems a strange choice. I wonder what the homophobic hag would make of it..!

The kick people while they’re down event I’m sure will be very popular.
As well as sell off stuff you own, then be ripped off to use it tent.
I myself look forward to the miner stomp and reliving the battle of the beanfield will be so nostalgic

Almost every issue that we have in the UK today can be traced back to this woman.

    21. Lmao, lots of comments getting removed for not liking thatcher lol. The Reddit automod is a cancer.

    22. What a horrible woman. Stole brew money from 16 and 17 year olds and students during the summer. Stole student grants from people. Forced the poll tax on the Scottish people in 1989. The most evil of politicians in Thatch.

She created wealth for the few and poverty for the many. And she’s still making people miserable from beyond the grave.

That should be quite an evening.

    28. Is there the chance that the bout of warm weather will cause them to cancel Thatchers favourite passtime: Burning children for warmth
