Ich sagte meinen Freunden, ich würde für einen Tagesausflug nach Brüssel gehen und alle meine Freunde hatten schlechte Erfahrungen dort – einer wurde ausgeraubt und ein anderer ließ sein Telefon gestohlen … also hatte ich wirklich schlechte Gefühle und geringe Erwartungen.
Als ich das erste Mal ankam, war ich auch ein bisschen enttäuscht, weil die Preise so hoch waren und die Fahrt vom Flughafen in das Stadtzentrum schlecht war, aber als ich in die Stadt kam, änderte sich alles.
Es gibt so viele schöne Gebäude, viele von ihnen mit freiem Eintritt und es gibt tatsächlich viel zu sehen!
Ich ging zu einem Abwassermuseum! Klingt Bizzare, aber es hat so viel Spaß gemacht! Ich ging zum Magritte Museum, eines der schönsten Gebäude und Museen, in denen ich gewesen bin, und sie waren beide ziemlich preislich!
Ich sprach sogar mit einigen Einheimischen, einem örtlichen belgischen Gentleman, und er gab mir gute Ratschläge und Motivation, ein Fremder ließ seine Brieftasche fallen und ich gab es ihm und er war so glücklich, dass ich nur gute Interaktionen mit Einheimischen hatte!
Und insgesamt hatte ich einfach eine gute Zeit!
Eine andere Sache – deine Parks … sind verrückt. So gut gepflegte Parks mit schönen Statuen und Pflanzen, es ist wirklich wie ein anderer Planet. Fühlte sich wie in den Himmel gehen
Kathedralen waren auch unglaublich – und kostenloser Eingang? Wow!
Das Europäische Parlament war auch beeindruckend – viele Flaggen fliegen, große Gebäude und ein echtes Gefühl von Bedeutung.
Ich hatte ehrlich gesagt nicht erwartet, Brüssel so sehr zu mögen wie ich, besonders mit all den Geschichten, die ich zuvor gehört hatte.
Aber diese Stadt überraschte mich am besten – voller Charme, Geschichte und Freundlichkeit.
Wenn Sie über einen Besuch nachdenken, lassen Sie sich von den Gerüchten nicht abschrecken.
Brüssel hat so viel mehr zu bieten als nur seinen Ruf – und ich kann es kaum erwarten, zurück zu kommen und noch mehr zu erkunden.

If you liked Brussel you’re going to Love any of our other cities (Charleroi exempt)
As a security guard living in Belgium.
We notice that criminals will most often pick out the same target(s). They showed random prisoners footage of people walking and asked to point out who you would pick as a victim. And they all pointed to the same people.
In order to avoid this:
1. Not always possible, but don’t walk alone. And incase you are being harrased. You can find the nearest group of people and pretend you know them. „Approach them fast with a friendly hii how are you, long time no see!“ Works like a charm.
2. Confidence is key. Try to take as much space as normally possible. Do whatever is necessary to show you are not a victim. Posture up, shoulders straight, head up. Try not to use your phone. When you use a phone. It actually does the exact opposite of what i mentioned.
3. Look at your surroundings, they look for people that are distracted and not paying attention.
4. Make sure things are difficult to get to. Wallets, phones, etc..
5. Check your law if it allows it, but pepperspray. It’s illegal in Belgium, though. However, there is Identifying spray gel. A spray bottle that looks identical to pepperspray, but it doesn’t harm anyone. It will shoot out a gel paint that is extremely hard to remove. And gives first responders the chance to catch them. While you call 112, you explain you got „insert crime here“ and you marked the criminal.
Even bullies will usually pick on the weaker ones and would refrain themselves from picking stronger opponents, Even if he’s still weaker than him, he will rather not risk it if there is resistance.
That guy must be rich!!! Look at all the posts he has done over the past 2 mounths. Nobody could affort that and my nick is traveleraddict. 🤣🤣
