I feel like Damon was never that invested in this “rivalry”

Sure, but Oasis didn’t write Song 2.

Gorillaz are better than both these bands

Anything Damon Albarn has done is better than Oasis. Just Demon Days is enough to win this battle.

Like Ewing and Malone taking about each other instead of Jordan.
(Radiohead is Jordan)

And yet, I’ll take Albarn’s career over the entirety of Oasis’s.

Oasis won the 90s
Damon and the Gorillaz won 00s onwards

Wasn’t aware of this beef prior to a fun argument thread with the boys last week on this very topic. I’m all in on Blur being better and will not be sharing this link.

I think Oasis‘ first two albums are good, plus some songs from other albums. On the other hand, I think Blur’s entire output is incredible (minus Leisure I guess)

Not in my house. Been listening to Blur for four decades.

The correct answer was Gorillaz.

Albarn doesn’t care, nor should anyone else. It’s just marketing.

Bro Gorillaz killed it so many times lol

I mean Oasis sucks and Blur doesn’t so

Then why am I happy when I hear a Blur song and kinda cringing when I hear an Oasis one? Their “personalities” and trashy behaviour overshadowed their mid music a long time ago. However Blur and all its subsequent spin off projects have imo aged like a fine cheese.

But Oasis aren’t the Gorillaz.

The amount of delusion in here is hilarious. At the end of the day it’s different strokes, but Oasis DOES NOT suck and that line of thinking is really tiring. Lotta pretentious douchebags in the comments. Lmao.

I’ve never understood the love of Oasis, nor the comparison to the Beatles.

And yet I’ll always prefer Blur. Genuinely think Oasis were massively overrated and still do. Doesn’t help that both Noel and Liam seem like complete knobs.

In the wise words of Stewart Brathwaite, Blur are shite.

Pshh… Blur all the way.

Liam and Noel had the rock star swagger more than Blur. Damon a great musician but not really that interested in tabloid news etc.

I preferred Suede at the time….

I’ve seen Blur and Oasis live and honestly it’s not close in terms of performance. Blur remains the best live performance I have seen live, but in fairness there was magic in the air that night and the crowd was electric (Glastonbury 2009).

Pretty sure Damon won at being a decent human over the fragile brothers.
He is also Emily Blunts hall pass, he didn’t lost to them at everything.

Ya but Oasis never wrote Ghost Ship.
Sliver80 on
He shouldn’t have to, Blur is definitely the best.

He’s just saying that. He knows damn well the fans will decide for themselves. Although he did say once that he respected Oasis because they knew who they were.
