As long as barely 20% of the electorate vote in the primaries and almost half never vote at all, the m/billionaire class doesn’t have a whole lot to worry about.
The problem is the segments of the population that progressives depend on are not reliable in the general election. If they would just turn out to vote more, we would see more successful progressive candidates be elected

Sanders is right, billionaires would be terrified of that, I hope this dude gets elected and I would vote for him if I lived in NYC but there are a legion of troglodytes who vote all over the country and are willing to shoot themselves in the foot before voting for someone black/brown let alone a Muslim because muslims did 9/11. Just want to point out that Bernie Sanders watched white people (including and especially Bernie’s target demo of young white males) either vote for Trump or stay home, both of which gave him the white house, and then publicly blamed a black/asian woman for the loss.
That wave is way too progressive and Democrats lining up behind it will fail miserably. There has to be something better.
