Do I believe in DOGE style arbitrary slashing? No.
Do I believe that we should do regular program reviews because organizations have a tendency to grow endlessly unless kept in check? Yes.
We can’t have a public service that is only allowed to grow, but not shrink, and have a financial future.
I’d like to see big cuts to consultancy as well if we’re going to do this. There are big savings to be found there too.
