I’d say S1 Ron would vote Trump. But he clearly softened his views on things as the show went.
Ron hates government expansion.
Current admin overstepping their boundary with ICE raids, consolidating power, federalizing “states rights” etc would be opposite of Ron’s political view.

Ron was a libertarian. Ron would have been over the moon about DOGE cuts. Offerman isn’t his character and shouldn’t feel obligated to defend him in every instance.

In both cases this logically scans pretty well. It’s hard for me to picture Ron Swanson or Hank Hill voting for Trump.
Let’s not pretend Ron Swanson wouldn’t do some real harm if he headed the US government. I love the character so much but he’s not a sanctified role model on either side of the political divide.
I’ve seen so many people like Ron Swanson, who would never, but then eventually went for Trump.
Ron hated all politicians and would have seen right through Trumps fake tough guy business man stuff and all the culty stuff would gross him out. He’d find a way to sell those idiots some wooden sign that said MAGA or something though.
Also the extreme government overreach and authoritarianism. It’s exactly what Ron was against. They’d know that if they watched even half of the show. Ron was smart enough to pay attention to actions and not words.
Ron was a libertarian, so he would’ve voted for Chase Oliver most likely. Libertarians are not republicans and they are not democrats, they’re libertarians.

While I agree Ron might not have voted for Trump I do think he would celebrate the billions of dollars worth of cuts Trump and Doge have made. Ron was a full on maniac when it came to his libertarian views and being a libertarian is about as close as you can get to being a republican before having to forfeit your spine. He opposed just about *all* of Leslie’s initiatives and even though he supported her as a person, her liberal ideals often confused and angered him.

Ron also believes in real conservative values. The big government policies, lack of regard for states rights and irresponsible spending should turn off any conservative. The open corruption and January 6th also wouldn’t fly with Ron.
