**Submission Statement**: A disbarment ceremony took place in Iraqi Kurdistan where Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) fighters burned their weapons. This ceremony is happening as part of a peace process that their leader Abdullah Ocalan called for after around 4 decades of armed resistance against Turkey. The hope is that disarmament will lead to Turkish President Recep Erdogan and his government to grant more rights to Kurds in regions where h they form the majority.
