be a real shame if Fetterman got REALLY stressed about this and his blood pressure got bad

    2. kjlsdjfskjldelfjls on

How about worrying about your own constituents, instead of our local election

    3. Sad_Detail404 on

How about everyone who doesn’t live in NYC just shuts the fuck up about their mayoral election

    4. This man went on Fox News to talk about who’s a real Democrat and who isn’t…?

    5. dust_inlight on

If I’m going to share some honesty with myself only in the echo chamber: these two represent the left and right fifteen percent of either side of the party, as it exists in reality, and should be allowed to duke it out and also find common ground and build on it

    6. There’s a study that shown brain stroke victims tend to change their political leaning….

    7. Thought I just had – if Zohran wins, does Trump move the giant fucking target he has on California over to NY?

    8. Fantastic_Yam_3971 on

He’s not your kind of democrat which is why we need him desperately

He’s not wrong tbh. Mamdani is what people want Democrats to be, but he is not what the Democratic Party represents now nor anytime in our lifetimes. 9.8/10 Democrat politicians presently are still legacy money, billionaire donor loving, insider trading, lobbyist simping upper crust elites. If you support Mamdani’s platform, you disagree with the overwhelming majority of elected Democrats.

I’m gonna need second opinions from Kyrsten Sinema, Joe Manchin, and Joe Lieberman about the color of pots.

    11. There was Santos and now there’s Fetterman. 2 complete wac jobs.

Thinking about it, I forgot Newt, who was ahead of his time, Hastert, who had a rule, Little Marco, what happened to him?, and a Senator from Texas who has yet to respond in any meaningful way to any emergencies facing his state.

Well, I can think of others, but isn’t this enough?

Makes one proud to be a Republican, or in John’s case, might as well be a Republican, if he has faith in what is going on with ICE.

As if that’s a reason not to support him. I think the American people are generally done with adherence to political parties. Even on the Republican side it’s about loyalty to Trump, not the GOP. I think people are looking for genuine leaders who care about improving the lives of the constituents, and if it means supporting someone that isn’t aligned with the establishment, then so be it. And nobody cares about what Fetterman says. He was a Democrat up until the moment he won, then he became a Trump supporter. So fuck him.

    13. The Democratic establishment is terrified of Mamdani and coalescing against him. Good news! The only people less popular than Trump and the Republicans, with both lower approval ratings **and** higher disapproval ratings are Democrats! So, keep it up Mamdani. If the DNC is against you, it means you are doing something **extremely** correct.

    14. What a racist. He doesn’t look like me, so he can’t be American. How sad we are still doing this in 2025

That’s your stroke talking you dimwitted oaf. Back to the swamps, Shrek

    16. PennCycle_Mpls on

Zohran Mamdani didn’t nearly kill his wife via insane wreck less driving and causing a high speed rear end collision either but hey, who’s counting?

    17. Every time people make the excuses that Fetterman is acting this way because of the stroke I have to laugh.

Black voters were warning the white leftists community that Fetterman and his character were in question from when he pulled a shotgun on an innocent Black man who was jogging. Fettermsn fans, White leftists, told Black people that we were overreacting and that the shotgun incident was a non-issue. Fast forward to now and the man’s true behavior is coming out and while everyone is trying to say it’s because of the stroke this is who we always was he just now feels comfortable showing it.

„We tried to warn you but you wouldn’t listen.“

      -Ancient Black American proverb

    18. It seems America can only choose lame, WWE type of politicians for their elected positions. I mean, we’re talking cheap E channel sh*t.

Does he have literal brain damage? I hope nobody takes what he says seriously

    20. That moron Bill Maher wanted this clown to be the next presidential candidate, ffs

    21. Peacefulgamer2023 on

We have a Republican pretending to be a democrat talking shit about a socialist pretending to be a democrat. Can’t make this shit up. Our politics is really just messed up right now.

    22. YesImHereAskMeHow on

Can fetterman go a day without opening his dumb fucking mouth

What a piece of shit he turned out to be

    23. IF Zohran isn’t a democrat then I guess I’m not either.

      >“I’m not a voter in New York City, so I have no dog in that fight and everything that I’ve read on him, I don’t really agree with virtually any of it, politically,” Fetterman said. “So that’s just where I’m at as a Democrat. He’s not even a Democrat, honestly.”

I wonder what policies he didn’t like, the free child care, free bus transportation, government operated grocery stores that are meant to drive down prices, tax increases on corporations and those earning above $1 million annually, affordable housing. I’ll spare the list any further but it’s funny how a party SCREEEEEECHING in congress during the big ugly bill could sit there, hear all of what Mamdani wants to do and still some of them refuse to endorse him or will go up against him either by putting money behind a different candidate or publicly voicing their dumb opinions.

    24. MonsterkillWow on

If being a democrat means being  a do nothing AIPAC shill, then he’s right. Zohran actually wants to help people and serve his society. Mindblowing concept.

    25. Choice-of-SteinsGate on

Fetterman had what I like to describe as the literal opposite of a *stroke of genius.*

Maybe folks like Fetterman should be studied to determine if there is a correlation between brain damage and the sudden adoption of more right wing viewpoints.

    26. I can promise you absolutely no person, not a single soul in NYC, gives a tiny flying fuck what Fetterman thinks about our mayoral election.

    27. I think fettermans hoodie hood is synched a little too tight. The pig has some nerve posing as a dem. There are real people in his district that are hurting and could really use his seat’s representation.

    28. Mikec3756orwell on

I find this kind of amusing because Fetterman is just an old-school Democrat from 30 or 40 years ago. They used to ALL be like him. The fact that a lot of people find Fetterman’s comment ironic is a testament to how far the Democratic party has shifted to the left. There were basically two or three types of Democrats you’d see on TV 30 years ago: heavy-set white dudes from the Rust Belt who were interested in higher wages for union members, railed against illegal immigration, and supported things like health care reform; they were sort of socially conservative in every other way. Some of them were anti-abortion for example (and Catholic). And then there were urban black Democrats who were representing their black constituents, who were seeking jobs, higher wages, more benefits, less racism, etc. There were a lot of white Boomer former hippies who voted Democratic. Nobody was overtly „socialist.“ Coming out of the Cold War, that was a dirty word. And both parties were over-the-top in their patriotism. The left was a bit more suspicious of the military and military adventures overseas. Hispanics were pretty much an afterthought.

However, the white collar coastal social-justice-minded Democrats of today, mostly white — who look at socialism approvingly and are down on America and favor open borders — that species simply didn’t exist except possibly on college campuses.

So when people accuse John Fetterman of not being a Democrat, I have to smile. They might actually be correct in a technical sense. He isn’t what the Democratic party is today. That’s probably true. He’s a bit of a relic. But it’s kind of funny. It shows you how parties that start out one way, if they last long enough, often end up being against the things they used to value.
