In a filing in Florida federal court last week, former federal judge Paul Cassell and Florida plaintiffs attorney Bradley Edwards said that their client was forced as a minor by financier Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with several people, including Dershowitz and Britain’s Prince Andrew.

The reports also state that another Epstein attorney agreed to a plea bargain that would have allowed Epstein to have no criminal record. His current attorney denies this happened. And the documents also reveal that the father of at least one girl complained that private investigators aggressively followed his car, photographed his home and chased off visitors. Police also talked to somebody who said she was offered money if she refused to cooperate with the Palm Beach Police Department probe of Epstein.

Alan Dershowitz was Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer. He served as Epstein’s attorney during the mid-2000s when Epstein was under investigation for sex crimes, including allegations of procuring minors for prostitution.
Dershowitz played a key role in negotiating a controversial non-prosecution agreement on Epstein’s behalf in 2006, which later drew public scrutiny and criticism. He continued to represent Epstein during the legal proceedings that followed, including the 2008 plea deal in which Epstein pleaded guilty to two state charges related to soliciting prostitution from a minor and received an 18-month prison sentence.
Dershowitz defended his role in Epstein’s legal case, stating that it was his professional duty to represent his client to the best of his ability, even in light of the public backlash. He has also denied allegations of personal misconduct tied to Epstein’s case, including accusations from Epstein’s alleged victims that he was involved in their abuse. One such accuser, Virginia Giuffre, had filed a defamation lawsuit against Dershowitz, but the case was dismissed in November 2022 with no payment exchanged between the parties.
Despite the controversy, Dershowitz has remained vocal about his belief that Epstein’s associates, such as Ghislaine Maxwell, have been unfairly treated in the aftermath of Epstein’s death in 2019. He has also called for the full release of court documents tied to Epstein’s legal cases, arguing that transparency is essential.
