Yes, the contract from hybel.no is a standard contract, defined by Norwegian law.
The deposit will normally be refunded after the contract is over.
Normally, the deposit is placed in a special account that the landlord sets up. But the money is yours and cannot be accessed by the landlord without your permission.
This special account is the only legal way to have a deposit in Norway. However, if you do not have a Norwegian bank account, yet, or the possibility to get one before you move, it is normal to make other arrangements.
Be careful with this because some people use this to take advantage of foreigners.
If you do make other arrangements, let them know that the money should be moved as soon as possible to a depositumskonto

It may be worth joining leieboerforeningen.
The deposit should be made to a so called deposit account that is in your name. It should not be transferred to the house owner – google translate this https://www.huseierne.no/hus-bolig/tema/juss/depositumskonto-pabudt-ved-utleie/ . This makes the money a lot more safe, there is a framework in place if the houseowner claims that they should get some of it (if you haven’t paid your rent or have damaged anything etc). Normally you get it all back when you move.
Hybel.no should be trustworthy yes, but they are not the huseowner so its no guarantee.
