      > The Tories brought in $42 million in donations and another $5 million in membership fees last year.

      > They also spent just shy of $50 million, with a large chunk of that going to advertising, research and polling.

Spending millions *more* than your record funding raising number and not getting much out of it is pretty funny — especially for the party that loves to claim fiscal responsibility.

Such a hot and cold campaign from the CPC and Poilievre.

Huge vote share, being increasingly perceived by the public as correctly diagnosing national issues, extremely motivated base who adore the leader, winning the coveted blue collar young male vote, giant lead to start the campaign, etc.

But also failing to pivot after Trudeau’s exit and Trump’s threats, creeping out women generally, being despised by progressives so much that they rush into the arms of a globalist banker, blowing the lead, losing the leader’s own seat and the general election.

What do you do with Pierre though, eh? Without him or someone very much like him the base wanders off to the PPC or just stays home. But keep him around and his anti-woke take ensures that no moderate voter with a university degree or a vagina will touch the CPC.

    3. They spent a good amount of this on attack ads against Jagmeet Singh, and now after the election they’re going around complaining that the NDP collapsing is something they couldn’t account for. The strategists here are complete fools.

And I get this is only from 2024, but most of the ads they were running were junk which they never seemed to test on focus groups. They had more than enough money to afford that, so what stopped them? Arrogance?

Poilievre will be remembered as the Kamala Harris of Canada. He raised unfathomable amounts of money, squandered it on useless stuff, and still ended up in debt.

Makes sense they raised a lot of money ever since he became leader in 2022 it felt like he was campaigning for 3 years

Trudeau and the LPC in general was in horrible polling/approval rating territory.

The Conservative Party of Canada was tracking to have a historic sized win.

A lot of people and organizations come out to be on the winning team in life.

I think this about sums the situation up.
