What are the odds it was timed for July 4 rain, and why?
Did they consider the death toll, and apparent epicenter being dozens of kids including in Bubble cabin at Mystic Camp?
At the moment press are indicating Death toll of 110. In addition to the 161 known to be missing in Kerr County, a dozen others are missing in other parts of the state.
Those numbers will change fast, but what could they mean at the moment of observation?

People knew for several days high amounts of rain was coming. Mystic Camp was not prepared and didn’t evacuate. Also was in a river basin. Local problems need local solutions.
Whether this rain or another, the biggest contributor imo are the cabins being built so close to the old oxbow lake banks. Hard to believe that’s out of a 100 yr flood plain.

Whatever storm that came through Dallas today was insane. And it started out of nowhere at 430-5 and didn’t stop until 930.
On my commute home today, by 530 several areas through Dallas had major flooding. The storm started with sideways rain and it never stopped
