Manchmal stelle ich mir vor, dass Tiflisi öffentlicher Verkehrsmittel den Himmel sein würde, wenn es richtig gemacht würde. Die ganze Stadt ist ein perfekter Ort, um Busse, Metros, Straßenbahnen, Wasserbusse und öffentliche Kabelautos herzustellen. Perffect City, um alle Arten von öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln für ihr Gelände zu haben

Theoretically maybe, but I can easily see one thing becoming a problem: as they start to excavate to build new metro tunnels, they would probably be slowed down by an unimaginable wealth of archeological discoveries and sites that MUST be carefully handled, documented, moved, stored, etc.
I am just going by what I saw with the Marmaray and other construction in Istanbul. Ancient city issues.
The only reason Tbilisi has any metro is because the Soviet Union built it. Unless China does it there will be no new line

Vake metro is impossible, theres sulfur gas and other chemicals in the soil that makes is extremely difficult to build a metro, and as others have stated, USSR is the only reason a metro in tbilisi exists, and it sure feels like that when you use it. The funds required for a new metro is sky high, even without taxpayer money being used corruptly, theres no way we could afford it. It would be goated tho, and i would love to see it
It’s been 3 years since they started the rehabilitation of Varketili metro station and they aren’t even close to finishing yet, imagine if they started building a new metro line…
