Russia lost the trust of Azerbaijani people already after 1920. It only got worse in late 1930s (repressions againt Azerbaijanis), mid-60s and 70s (horrible treatment of Azeris compared to other nations of the USSR), early 90s (first Karabakh war), 2014 and 2022 (invasion of Crimea and Ukraine)
The headline in the video – heading for NATO – is not completely unrealistic an option.

Well, the arrogance of Russians created a state of repulsion between Azeris since so long ago, even if governments were allies, i don’t think peoples were
NATO? After Ukraine?
NATO is meant to only include Liberal democracies with civil rights…

Video is good, but the the text on the thumbnail is misleading. We are not interested in NATO membership, and NATO is not interested in taking us as a full member.
In addition, I think this fallout with Russia is temporary. We can not afford bad relation with Russia, whether we like them or not.
One condition of nato membership is democracy. Which is why Azerbaijan can not join, nor can Ukraine now (with election cancellations).
Its impossible for Azerbaijan to join nato without joining together with armenia, If you want to do a wombo combo RKO to all geopolitical assets/leverages of Azerbaijan and Turkey, you can try to join for suiciding in spectacular fashion.
