Translation: Full List of Republicans Who Killed Your Kids to Fund their Vacations and Will Do It Again

    2. Luke_Cocksucker on

This is only the first tragedy caused by climate change to happen under this presidency. Start the counter now, how many people will die under trumps botched cuts.

    3. CheerleaderOnDrugs on

I made sure to email my local rep, and asked how he is feeling today, complicit in the deaths of little girls in Texas.

It is a creative writing exercise, each and every time I write him, because he is a heartless Republican.. How do I tell him how I am feeling without profanity and/or LEO showing up on my porch.

    4. They think they refunded weather manipulation.

      They are all schizophrenic.
I dont mean it in a derogatory way.

These people are untreated and in a form of psychosis.

They have gone off the deep end and unchecked.

Can we call in psychological evaluations on them? F5

      What about home checks?

Also, can we start requiring drug tests for those in the government and if found with drugs in the system, first suspend them pending treatment.
Second if treatment is refused, they are forced to resign.

Something needs to be done before more people are hurt, killed or imprisoned!

    5. Republicans are behind this tragedy no matter how you shake it out.

Local Republican officials in that county and residents who for years rejected scientific studies showing a growing flood risk and need for warning sensors and automatic sirens.

Republicans who reject climate change and we continue to see projections about average temperatures rise even beyond what was predicted 15 years ago. These warmer temperatures leading to more severe weather events. Longer hurricane seasons. More tornados.

Republicans who support Donald Trump and DOGE and allowed them to decimate government jobs which led to the local NWS branch responsible for this area having double the unfilled positions it did before Trump took office, including the retirement (thanks to Trump’s buyout) of their senior coordinator who worked with local officials on pending weather events.

Now in terms of the NWS. Would it have made a difference? I don’t know. Would the warning have come faster? Would the previous person have more sway or contact individuals who could spread the word before the warning had been upgraded at 4AM to an imminent threat? Again I don’t know.

I do know that when meteorologists are willing to risk their jobs and speak out and say things like „look, I can’t guarantee the forecasts we make this year will be as accurate or as quick as they were in the past because of government budget cuts and less personnel“ that you can’t be a Republican who turns away and says „Welp, we needed to trim the fat“ and not be saddled with blame for the consequences.

Someone needs to start purchasing billboard ads to shame these people in their home states

No point of they don’t factor in weather manipulation. Take the fight elsewhere. This is a joke.

Put it side by side with the full list of people who died in that Texas flash flood.

    9. What else is new? Republicans also crippled the power grid in Texas and when it failed and people die the try to blame wind turbines, them they all got re elected. Uvalde, TX where 19 kids were killed at school due to incompetence and slow response re elected Republican overwhelmingly.

Texas keep affirming her commitment to stay with the abusers, sort of like the woman who escaped the women shelter to go back to her abuser.

      >As the bill made its way through Congress, Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz signed language into the legislation that did away with $150 million in funding to „accelerate advances and improvements in research, observation systems, modeling, forecasting, assessments, and dissemination of information to the public,“ according to a report in The Guardian.

You know who wouldn’t have done this? Collin Allred.

People will be even less happy to hear Republicans plan for Ai to do the job.

    12. List can be published but they will still be re-elected. People get what they voted for.

    13. Zestyclose-Tomato998 on

Texans! Aim your anger, grief, and hatred at these cold-hearted assholes! Take to social media instead of the streets! Change the algorithms that influence voters. These people in office means more people dead!

    14. Shirley-Eugest on

The number of comments on social media news articles on this topic that blame cloud seeding or some conspiratorial shit, is disgusting.

    15. I found this tidbit especially interesting as Ted Cruz dons his mask of innocence: „The cuts weren’t in the House version. Cruz added them in the Senate, behind closed doors, as chair of the committee that oversees Noaa.“

    16. Who cares? MAGA will happily allow Republicans to ream them over and over if it means that black and brown people get to suffer more.

    17. Right_Ostrich4015 on

I do not like that man Ted Cruz,
I do not like him in the news,
He’s messing with our weather today,
I wish he would fucking go away

    18. Asleep-Sale-2457 on

I feel sort of dirty upvoting a Newsweek article, but they did real journalism here. Credit where it is due. More please.

    19. Expensive_Panic_2738 on

Don’t forget the local government who refused FEMA investment in to sirens. They are to blame too.

    20. RxDrOctopus77 on

I it’s all about blame and other people right this is ridiculous fucking ridiculous
