The PS5 console was suggested to outsold the Xbox Series system’s

Microsoft should really just make the Xbox a series of prebuilt PCs at this point with a specialty OS game mode that lets you eek out more performance using it like a traditional console when you want.

The Series X has been out for years and still hasn’t got an exclusive that takes full advantage of the hardware. Halo was mediocre at best, Forza peaked with Forza Motorsport 4 and somehow releases in a shit state every time. Flight Simulator is a next gen experience, but that’s very niche.
Now Microsoft is porting some former exclusives to the Playstation and Switch consoles, why would anyone buy an Xbox? Gamepass is great value, and there’s a huge back catalogue of games to play.. But very little new games.
They bought all those of those games studios over the last 10+ years, and have done fuck all with them.

honestly is it even worth it to get the latest xbox if its just a glorified locked down pc? I dont think ive seen any ground breaking exclusives for a while.
I also want to say I would really like to support microsoft over sony due to past greviences with sony (I still hate how they handled ps2 backwards compat with the ps3). But they really havent shown any reason to buy an Xbox unless you really dont want to purchase a laptop or home PC.

I’m a PlayStation enjoyer. I don’t care about console wars (though I did get feisty with a redditor before the current gen came out because they didn’t understand how computers work…)
But I wont celebrate any failings of Xbox or Microsoft. We need competition. If Microsoft stops putting out hardware then Sony has no motivation to push the envelope.
I’m never going back to PC. My wrists can’t handle it (the first time RSI reared its ugly head was playing spore. I was hitting that mouse wheel like it would save me from a volcano trying to take off and land on planets. Only to later learn there were key bindings for that…) I’m old now. I have no time for drivers and $1000 graphics cards and windows updates. I want a console that works well enough. And I need an environment that will push them to go bigger and bolder. My monkey brain gets excited that I picked a winner but my human brain worries about a stale future without innovation.
Now if you need me I’ll be dusting off my awesome psvr2 headset that I never use. God I hate being old.

I dont think Microsoft care. They want people on Gamepass thats their aim. Whether that PC or console doesnt matter to them

I grabbed an S for the kids to play Minecraft, the switch version was garbage. I’m a PC man, never had an Xbox or playstation before, but it seems fine, quite buggy with the quick resume tho.
I just grabbed 2 years of ultimate so I get gamepass on PC and console and kids are happy

– PlayStation: in the middle of its lifecycle
– Xbox: Gamepass cannibalizing sales
– Nintendo: just give us the next Switch already!
– Stemdeck: does that count as a console?

I’d buy it if it was like $200 for gamepass games. I just don’t *need* anything but my PC. Honestly, PlayStation is just as unappealing to me. It’s been a lame console generation.

It’s not a Playstation.

This generation is frankly disappointing. I bought a PS5 for my adult son only to find out he’d already got one. It really offers nothing more than my PS4. Waste of money. XBox peaked with the 360. My Quest 3 has provided the first truly new experience in at least six years

Bring the 360 blades back;) At this point is a watered down Windows looking OS of a mess. And no freaking ads!!

They are doing a PC next generation. It’s fine by me because I’m that age where I think I would prefer MKB in some games over how sticks.

Make more games cooperative dammit. And not just online, split screen. Bring back gaming

Once I realized I could get better performance and graphics on the same TV by using Game Pass through GeForce Now than on my XSX I decided to sell my Xbox. There is no point to it anymore, for me at least

I can say as a former xbox gamer (literally sold my series x 2 weeks ago and my gaming PC arrived like, the day before lol) I made the switch to PC and why would I ever move back? Xbox should focus on gamepass and making it the premier multi console video game streaming/sales service and try and become a competitor for steam. Also like others said, move to affordable pre built pc’s.

Any time I say rains why I don’t buy an Xbox, fanboys tell me why it’s not a good reason. It’s like “Okay, but I’m not buying one for that reason and I’m not the only one.” Bad framerates on exclusive where the pc solved it, bad customer support where the pc doesn’t need it, base controller isn’t rechargeable and pro controller has quality control issues.

I mean, isn’t the cycle nearly over? Everyone that wants, has.

Because there’s no reason to buy them. You can play all the xbox games on pc. Which isn’t to say a PC is less expensive, it’s not but most people already have a PC so there’s no reason to get the xbox.

Pull up a list of exclusives for the current Xbox. That will give a good idea of what this generation has to offer.
D0inkzz on
Obviously they are. Xbox hasn’t been as popular since 360. I still love the controller and the platform personally but most have moved onto ps5 or PCs. PCs got a lot more attention during Covid and more and more people are getting them.

Apart from the fact that there are little to no exclusives, they’ve attempted to present the xbox x/s as its own thing but couldn’t be bothered to give it a sense of identity. The UI is derivative block-tiles and just looks like a windows machine (it even uses the same fonts!)

F Microsoft
Traded mine for beer, all the xbox people hype the hell out of gamepass, there was nothing left for me to play after a month. It’s super meh.
I like to check video game hardware sales a few times a month, on the VG Chartz website
When I see their sale numbers for both Europe and Japan, they are so bad, I don’t know why Microsoft tries so hard
PlayStation is beating them in Europe, by selling more then Xbox selling 84K last month
Nintendo is beating them in Japan, they only sold 10K Xbox systems their last month
Xbox sales are fine in North America, but I couldn’t find them
