Don’t worry, I’m sure the people responsible will be dealt with appropriately and those affected will be treated with sympathetically.
The people at the top will be given a golden handshake and silenced with wads of cash, the people in the middle will be skapegoated, and those affected will be given a lovely „fuck you“ letter regarding compensation proclaiming too much time has now passed and government has decided it’s moved on and the past should be left in the past or some shit with a „lessons will be learned“ postscript at the base. Standard policy for literally every scandal (and we’re in double figures) of the past few decades.
Those in charge of the government department and Fijitsu should be on trial for corporate manslaughter
Things like the Grooming gangs, 2008 financial crash and the Post Office scandal show the complete ineptitude of the proffesional/managerial classes.
With the UK planning to „mainline AI into the veins of the public sector“, I’m sure that we’ll see plenty of similar scandals in the coming decades.
Even removing the suicides, and everything else. They should be fucking fined for allowing people to real time change accounts in production. Absolute insanity that someone even thought of it as an idea, let alone built the fucking thing.

Lays bare what a joke our justic system (and all of them are to be frank). So criminal prosecution is suppose to reach the level of beyond reasonable doubt, but 900 people apparently had evidence that went beyond reasonable doubt that was flat out wronng.
Beyond the failings of the Post Office and its shit software, is no one asking what went wrong with the trials and how to fix them?
You can’t adequately compensate for this, nor the ill health the postmasters and mistresses suffered because of the unlawful prosecutions.
Let’s get the same traction for the cladding scandal!
