      Just to make sure; Sevan Nişanyan is one of the most pro-Armenian, pro-Russian; anti-Turk and probably anti-Azeri people in the planet. So even if he agrees there was an ethnic cleansing in Armenia, you simply cannot argue it otherwise.

      This is not the ethnic presence of a minority. It’s the majority in the region. Do you really think Armenians are about to expel Assyrians, the most similar ethnicity to them? And there are many Kurds in Armenia to this day in those same areas.

      Most expulsions before the Karabakh conflicts were made by Stalin (with some help from the Dashnaks, tbf)

      Finally, I don’t like these types of posts. Where is the side by side ethnic map of Azerbaijan in 1886 to 2024? This type of post highlights one sides crimes over another, when in reality both sides did pretty much the same things to each other.

      This is not fake, fellow Armenians or Azerbaijanis. For every post you must see why the user posted it. Every post has an agenda. This post is intended to create conflict and remind of Armenian wrongdoings in times of near peace. Why? I don’t know.

      Every caucasian republic comitted ethnic cleansing. The capital of Georgia used to have an Armenian majority in the 19th century. Baku’s population was 10% armenian at one point, not to mention Karabakh and Eastern Turkey.

      Something happened between 1915-1917 that forced Armenians to move away from Asia Minor and make Azeris minority in modern day Armenia. I wonder what happened. Mhmmm.

      When people talk about 1915, a crucial part of the historical context is often ignored. There’s rarely any mention of how there was a joint invasion with Russia, during which a brutal war was waged against the Muslim population, and how certain regions were ethnically cleansed in the process.

      Similar patterns played out in the Balkans. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Russia fueled nationalist movements, which led to the ethnic cleansing of Balkan Turks and Circassians. Many of them were forcibly pushed into Anatolia.

      These aspects of history are frequently left out, even though they’re essential for understanding the full picture of the era.

      Numbers would have been interesting too, not just raw majority data.
      Because 1886 is only a few decades prior to the Hamidian massacres of christians (mostly Armenians but also Assyrian and pontic Greek) that happens under Abdulhamid II that killed tens of thousands and affected half a million people in eastern Anatolia.
      Many of them flew to Russian-controlled Armenia and Georgia, thus changing the demographics there.
      And after the WWI massacres/genocide, the end of the war and the Turkish revolution, even more Armenians fled to the area.

      140 years is too wide of a gap and modern day border Armenia is too small of an area to allow proper analysis. It’s bonkers.

      Go back a few more hundred years, where the mongol hord hadn’t come to Anatolia yet and when Turks didn’t exist and it was all just Armenian highlands. With your logic, all of AZ and turkey should not exist.

      A much more helpful projection of this map would be sized up by population. For example, notice that large Molokan strip in the south? It makes it seem like there was one Molokan per square inch, when in reality that was a district which may have had 5 or 5000 people in it. It’s not clear. And as certain areas were multi-ethnic, but we only see one color per district, does the map just color in whoever had the most, even if it’s close? 

      This kind of map is like the one for the 2016 U.S. presidential election, coloring every district red or blue. If you look at it, you’d think Republicans dominated the country, because the very large areas with low population vote red, while there were only a handful of Democrats anywhere, when in actuality Democrats won the popular vote.

      If you dont believe me, ask ChatGPT, google, if anything CLOSE to this event has happened in 1886. And if you think that those sources are manipulated by Armenians to give out pro Armenians news (🤡) ask actual credible known and neutral historians. You will see how brainwashed you people are. This is truly hilarious. Dont take my word, do your research.
