Not sure what the defence’s strategy here is? Outright denial isn’t going to work surely?
Also not sure we should have firearms officers who „can only see at arms length“ if their glasses get knocked off!

Reminder that the CPS had seen this video and the viciousness of the attack, yet hesitated in even prosecuting these guys for months, clearly considering not doing it at all (to ease „community tensions“ no doubt).
Anyone who says we don’t have a 2-tier justice system at every possible level is living in delusional denial at this point. We don’t have a justice system, we have a community tensions management system.

Could the police have handled this better? Yes
Did they have to try to grab big nose without warning him? Probably not
Did they have the push big nose’s head down? No
Did they have to start punching the other one so quickly? No, they could have backed off
Are the brothers innocent? Nope. Lock em up and get the police some extra training

The fact that this has taken so long for a case where the most anyone is charged with is ABH is quite ridiculous.

Unbelievable that those two have the gaul to try and claim self defense. They’d better have the book thrown at them.
Let’s face it in the States they’d have each gotten a bullet for their actions and refusal to comply.

Reminder of the narrative in the days following this incident
For everyone saying that the force was unjustified, the brothers had just assaulted a member of the public, the police have no radio cover in that area of the airport (so wished to take the guys outside quickly), the video of the police getting attacked is absolutely brutal and one of the armed officers who got jumped said he could feel his gun shifting away from his holster during the attack.
I honestly don’t say this often, but I am with the coppers on this one.

The BBC, ITV, Sky Mail, Sun, Mirror, Independent, MEN and many, many, many more outlets are reporting on today’s proceedings, and the sickening footage shown in a trial where men hit women with such animal savage they concussed them.
Would anyone like a guess as to which national newspaper, with strong ties to Manchester, didn’t report any of this ?
Wonder if they will even report the inevitable outcome in case it spoils their narrative

it was no accident that was released on the anniversary of the 7/7 bombings.
These guys should have been charged straight away, it’s a clear case of attacking the police. the guy that kicked the dude on the floor should also have been charged.
If riots had started, then we deal with the riots but this kind of thing needs to be policed like any other incident.
Without fear or favour.

That „alleged“ is doing all the lifting… I suppose the BBC needs to cover their asses after what they did in that Breakfast programme when they paraded these people like heroes
