„Waahhh Waaahhhh we’re going to make our abilities to conduct business worse because we don’t want to slightly cut into our record profits year on year. Rachel Reeves isn’t coming to our party.“

    2. These polls from businesses are always very negative. It’s the default for them.

    3. The insane thing is that National Insurance was cut by the Conservatives as a temporary measure. Labour simply put it back to what it was, and now its a „tax hike.“

    4. Given all I hear is ‚use AI‘ and ‚how much more can we offshore to India‘, I’ll take the hiring confidence down to tax hikes with a huge pinch of salt.

Insentives need to be put forward, offer high quality jobs with a full training plan and clear promotion/pay rise paths or get taxed at a far higher bracket

Wait a minute. Increasing the cost of employment… leads to less employment????

The government acknowledges this logic flows for cigs, booze, gambling, green stuff etc etc etc but for jobs? WOW. That’s news.

Can we just stop posting cityam altogether. I’ve never seen such a bipolar news source

    8. This government will not get the tax revenue it wants if it keeps driving away the very same people that generate the said tax revenue. United Kingdom needs a broad revitalisation of industries across the board. There needs to be a stampeding economic growth. Otherwise there simply won’t be enough money to fix whatever ails Great Britain.

Doing business in the UK (and Europe as a whole) is all sticks and no carrots. Ever increasing tax burden on corporations and employees (fiscal drag), increasing minimum wage, Dory from local council can put a stop to anything she wants because she was bored on a Tuesday afternoon and did not like the business proposal because it came from a brown guy,
