    1. From reporter Li Zhou:

In interviews on Sunday, Trump officials did everything they could to downplay the Medicaid cuts in his massive tax bill, given the electoral backlash Republicans could face.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent suggested that Democrats were trying to “infantilize the poor” by raising concerns that new work requirements for Medicaid would be burdensome and result in people losing their benefits. And during an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett denied that many people would lose health coverage at all.

Democrats need to be relentless in informing the people what this bill eventually and directly does to their lives. Being a Trumper doesn’t make you immune from the fallout.

Republicans don’t care – they’re celebrating. They may be wrong – but many of them believe – if not most and dare I say almost all, that short term pain = long term gain.

I know a guy who owns a huge textile business and the tariffs are costing him. I had dinner with him last night – and his perspective – he hates what Trump is doing to his business, but he’s also acknowledges that something had to be done and nobody was doing anything.

If there’s fallout – republicans will pay in the midterms, but they did something that most politicians wouldn’t even dare to try – they went up against public opinion and made some sweeping changes with many hoping (not all!) that this will fix a system that lots of folks think has been broken for a long time.

And right now – lots of them are really happy with what they’re seeing.

      They think we’re stupid

It’ll be hard to blame Biden when hospitals close, and people have to take their parents in when their nursing home closes.

But hey, they sure did own the libz, right?

    6. I wonder *eat* how long it will take *the* for the republican base to *rich* get f’d.

and Dems are helping them along the way, instead of talking and the bill, showing and shouting how it’s going to hurt the Average American ,they are still pissy about the Muslim in NY.

That’s why Republicans put all the negative stuff on time delay so a slim Democrat-majority Congress would get the blame and also not have the numbers to do anything about it.

The Nazis began their ‘eliminations’ with disabled people and those with mental illness. Aktion 4 / T4!
There is no difference between this the cuts to Medicare / Medicaid.
Anyone that disagrees with them, gets called a communist.
To this I say, “First, they came for the Communists…”

They don’t need to hide anything .. the tax bill could be the the Enabling Act of 1933 and the magas would cheer it on just because it was republican sponsored.

Hi, we can all protest by not filing taxes. They didn’t include an irs budget. Idiots.

    14. It hasn’t even been 3 days.

This bill was so incredibly callous and shortsighted.

As the law it is and anchor on the necks of everyone and a sword of damocles for the rich.

      1,000 billion from MediCaid.

      300 billion from SNAP.

And another 500 billion from MediCare.

This is dooming our country completely.

What we need is someone with a lot of money, who has baseline human decency, to finance the production of audiobook versions of every bit of legislature this administration tries to slip through. Then place billboard ads and stickers with QR code links to free downloads.

I’m sure that shit would get shut down as fast as it went up but it’s probably the only chance we have to avert a total collapse of our country.

    17. Most of the dumb and uneducated MAGA voters see no issues with the Big Beautiful Betrayal Bill! What daddy TACO must be true.
