      It’s almost like Reform thrives off creating wedge issues to deflect from their lack of policy ideas.

      Total grifters in it to line their own pockets.

      Yeah, but my grandpa is happy to “get hiz cuntree back”, so I suppose that’s Reform’s goal?

      I don’t understand why the left do this game of ideological „chicken“ by pretending it doesn’t phase them at all and it’s „performative“. Those flags didn’t just spring up out of nowhere.

      I can almost gurantee that an incoming left of centre party coming in will have it back up within days.

      Then why the focus on flying them in the first place? People can joke ‘flegs’ about Reform all they want, but the same criticism has to be applied to the other groups wanting specific flags flown (like the Scottish greens who wanted the Pakistan flag to fly from Glasgow’s city chambers)

      Agreed, in the hierarchy of things that the government (local or national) should be focusing on, flags should be bottom of the pile. When we live in a functioning society, where services run effectively, state finances are in good shape, and people are enjoying prosperity, then we can devote a very small amount of attention to discuss optimal flag use.

      This just highlights the incompetence for Reform.

      This issue is entirely manufactured because they need to deflect from their general incompetence.

      The fact that this has attracted the attention of the senior owners of reform speaks volumes.

      It just goes to show that those who support these grifters should be held with contempt and written off.

      Why’s she so upset about it then? Does it matter or not? She’s welcome to mention it to win votes back though, but would putting it back just be performative, like most things people say or do these days ‚its performative‘ oh the magic words, you are so clever it must be right then.

      There is something so pathetic that Reform says we’re needed to save the country, and yet their focus is just being nastier to people worse off than most people.

      I still feel a wave of embarrassment when I see a Pride flag, and I think that’s because you didn’t see them when I was a kid.

      I think it’s stupid to make them into an issue, but I understand the issue.

      What I really ***really*** hate about Reform voters is how they picture themselves as being these hard-nosed types moving against the old-school career-politician archetype who has no real values and just uses rhetoric and oratory in a totally cynical manner to push an agenda.

      And then immediately back figures like Zia Yusuf who honestly is the absolute fucking worst example of this archetype I have encountered in fucking *years.* Full on faux-outrage and super flowery language, behind the pulpit with a fancy tailored suit, all over such a total non-issue.

      The hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness I just cannot stand.

      How about Reform’s leader provide justification for his support of Brexit and how did it succeed like he said it would? The issues important to the population are just being ignored by these Reform extremists.
