So let me write something for the douchebags who think this is a good idea for this country. Losing seats in the house is what it amounts to so that‘ what hes about. But the difference between the green card and citizenship is a multiple choice quiz that most americans wouldn’t even pass. And fees every ten years. So lets not kid ourselves that there is any benefit to this country for green cards to becoem citizens. You have a damocles sword over green cards saying those with felonies can be deported but that’s nothing any normal person worries about. Most of green cards or „permanent resident“ (as it says on the card) are just paying this country a fee 900 dollars every ten years. Its free money for this country, and in return, you uh, dont get to vote, you have to have a gonverment ID with you at all times, and you have to report change of address to ICE. Which they do. So first, why the hell do you guys want to rug pull your free money which you get from all these green card renewals. Citizenship is one and done. So how about leave that cash cow be. If someone lives 70 years that is lost opportunity of like 6500 dollars per person. They pay more to be in america than you do and have to carry ID and be tracked like its a sex offender registry. Its important to recognize what they contribute and what they put up with for it. Second, douchebags, how do you think green card holders feel when DHS is flipping them off with tweets like, GrEeN cArD HoLdErS WiLl Be DePoRtEd If ThEy BrEaK tHe LaW. People who chose america end up thinking maybe it isn’t so great here anymore, and why? its because its not. and you guys are like well just be a citzen. The interesting part here is that this might actually hurt Florida. Texas, California, and Florida have the highest number of undocumented immigrants by far.

The last census *was* rife with errors but that was Trump’s fault. He doesn’t get a do-over.

This is significantly less likely to happen than this policy during the 2020 census that was blocked (although the census was still negatively impacted by the talk, COVID, and the hostile administration).

He won’t be president for the next census. The 14th amendment which also discusses citizenship also discusses the census, the congress purposefully uses the word “ people “ not “ citizens. It cannot be argued this was a mistake. They could have said citizens as easily as they said people. They did not. Fuck him.

The census gets used for schools, hospitals, roads etc. Things that benefit a society and help it to thrive. He wants to create his own numbers to back up his cuttîng funds for infrastructure. ( which he didnt care about anyway. )

Pew Research did [a great study](https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/07/24/how-removing-unauthorized-immigrants-from-census-statistics-could-affect-house-reapportionment/) on how removing the undocumented from the 2020 census would’ve impact congressional seats.
They found that republicans would have lost 2 seats, and gained 2 more, while Democrats would lose 1 and gain one. A total wash and waste of time.
No doubt those pushing for this change are aware of this. Meaning this is simply for optics which appeal to racist and anti-immigrant sentiments.

No. Appropriations are based on all persons, not all citizens. The purpose of the census as defined by the Constitution is to have an accurate count all persons living within the United States, and to use that count to determine representation in Congress. They very clearly called for a count of all persons, not all citizens. This is another bullshit Trump effort to redefine the Constitution by fiat. He can go fuck himself.
