They need to rehire everyone and restore every department in NOAA that got gutted, give them all big raises for being jerks, and promise to not touch the agency ever again. People are dying. It’s not worth saving a nickel. All of NOAA costs $6 billion a year which is 0.1% of the federal budget. And give them so many satellites and weather stations and radars they don’t know what to do with them all.

She’s taking thinly veiled shots at California, criticizing how other states don’t respond to natural disasters as well as Texas does. Well, first off, I’m sure Trump didn’t blame Abbott for the floods or go on Truth Social and go on a tirade about how awful of a governor he is the way he would have with Newsom if the floods had happened in California. And considering it’s a Trump-allied Republican governor, the Trump administration is going to help Texas a lot faster and be more compassionate to their needs.

It used to be that most facts and science were considered bipartisan. Now everything is debated in a partisan manner. The laws of physics and the natural world don’t care if people in Texas don’t believe things work that way or not.
