Well, hopefully it’ll separate the republicans into two different factions and then neither one of them will win again.

I saw a tiktok and the user made some interesting connections regarding the BBB that just passed.
Basically they’re cutting funding for medical research (CDC, NIH ) and rural hospitals but simultaneously adding $25 billion to something called a *rural health transformation program* for “remote monitoring robotics,AI, and other advanced technologies”. How come the Republicans haven’t talked about how this bill would be “helping” rural communities?
Coincidentally, Palantir (the military surveillance company) recently got a $443 million contract with the CDC (the same one they’re cutting by 50%). Meanwhile Neuralink just recently completed one of their first human brain implant trials at the University of Miami. Maybe it’s just a coincidence that FL governor Ron De Santis just weeks ago vetoed a bill that would allow families to sue drs for medical malpractice if it resulted in death. And maybe it’s just a coincidence that it’s less than 50 miles away from Alligator Alcatraz
The theory is that you take away access to healthcare and scientific research funding **replace** it with a program that has very little regulation, and use the most vulnerable people as pawns for your own fucked up fascist fantasies

That’s a very symbolic name, though I doubt Elon realizes it.
Back in the 1850s there was a different party called the America Party.
They were an anti catholic, anti Irish, anti German, nativist populist American nationalist party
And a major part of the party ideology was to deny knowledge of anything they actually wanted to do. Hence they became known as the Know Nothings.
This America Party wouldn’t last long, as they would merge with the remnants of the Whig Party and Free Soil Party under the name Republican.
So yeah, definitely a symbolic choice as far as the GOP collapsing

Kick rocks, Elon. Anyone who thinks Musk is doing anything but watering down Democratic Party efforts to fight Trump are fooling themselves. At best, he’ll play both sides against each other.
I will never trust a fascist oligarch, and Musk – with his Nazi-salute and destructive DOGE grift – has already proven he’s the enemy of the American people.

A multi-party system is exactly what this country lacks. And to kick off a successful third party, it has to come from a well-known person with a large following to sustain representation, unlike the libertarian and green parties. Musk is the perfect inaugural candidate.

This has a chance. Plenty of democrats are sick of the far left swing their party has taken, and Republicans are sick of their party talking a good game on spending and foreign wars but not delivering. A socially moderate working class party with conservative financial stances might be enough to make a dent.
