From working through international allies such as UNRWA and Qatar to pressure closing the GHF down, to making threats and attacking Palestinian „Collaborators“, to now directly attacking Americans on the ground. Hamas has become bold and desperate in their attempts to stop Gazans from getting fed directly and for free.
**Background on the GHF:**
The GHF is one of the most serious efforts to actually eradicate Hamas since the war started. The idea is that Hamas has been stealing a large percent of incoming aid to Gaza, stockpiling as much as they need in their tunnels, while selling the left overs of the free aid to civilians. Then using that money to keep paying it’s members and recruit new desperate ones. Because of that, Gazans getting aid is a **major** blow to Hamas. One that has a chance of gradually breaking their hold over the population. And as such, even before the plan even started, there was already huge pressure from Hamas, Qatar, the UN and more Hamas allies to stop it in it’s tracks. Showing feeding Gazans was never a goal of any of these actors.
So far the GHF has provided over 60 million meals to Gazans in just weeks, despite challenges both on the ground, but even more so on the international stage. Where the same people and organizations who constantly complained about food to Gaza, are now working their hardest to spread lies about the plan.
Dont worry, the pro hamas crowd will find a way to rationalise and excuse this any second now
This would be the same GHF contractors who are using live rounds and stun grenades on people. Possibly they fumbled one of their grenades when trying to use it.
These trigger happy mercs either attacked one of their own by mistake or were attacked by a random Gazan who was sick of being shot at. Those two seem far more likely than this being an organized Hamas attack
GHF is a risky endeavor in an incredibly unstable space (hence why most NGO’s won’t go in without quiet coordination with Hamas). I’m surprised it took this long for an incident to happen.
There will be more of this until the ceasefire deal is signed (if it even happens)
