The by-election system might really help us. We’ve seen many times that the far right fail once in power. The key is to give them just enough power that they can show their idiocy, without that idiocy causing too much damage.
Let them win control of some councils for a few years. Broadcast how they act. Let people see their incompetence and bigotry. Hopefully they’ll notice and be sensible enough not to vote them into a position where they could do more damage.
