That’s not fair! Trading human lives for signed merchandise is, like, the GOP’s *thing*!

They (R) know that if they can get their Christian follows to believe into the BS, it will spread.

This is not the way Christians live.

    3. It just occurred to me that, baked into this bill is ultra funding of ICE (exceeding that of the Marine Corp. by more than 3x), and considering the initial arguments to gin up hatred of immigrants was the myth that Democrats only win when they (illegally) vote, what is the liklihood that ICE is going to be assigned to watch voting stations to make sure „only Americans“ (whatever that means by the midterms) can vote?

Obviously everything in this bill is trash, and those voting for it are traitors, but that little detail gives me serious pause. That one has consequences we’re not going to be able to look past at all. That’s the part that takes the air out of the lungs as the mouth tries to say „remember this when it comes time to vote.“

    4. Oh, hooray. She and Jeffries can tag team it next time. I’m sure all the angry speeches aill accomplish so much.

„Oh, but what do you expect her to do? The democrats have no power.“

It’s called civil disobedience, and historically it’s how an oppressed, powerless group is able to fight back against their oppressors. Democrats should have spent the last six months organizing a mass protest and general strike. AoC in particular could use her loyal following to do a lot, but instead all she does is tweet (on a platform owned by a fascist) while giving lots of angry speeches. Every single democrat is fucking useless.

Amazing that the US has a political party based on the hate and suffering of other Americans

    6. Jesus was a flaming socialist. Like making Marx blush type of socialism. He wanted the rich to give away ALL of their wealth. I just want them to pay taxes.

    7. Good on her for calling out the fake Christianity. More politicians need to be hitting them there.

    8. There are several references in the bible itself about people that publicly and loudly proclaim their faith, and ornately decorate themselves as Christian iconography but don’t actually practice Christian beliefs. The modern GOP embodies it perfectly. So assured in their religiosity yet so far from God they cant even see the light any longer.

    9. Jesus is woke to them.

They follow Jesus in name only but would detain/deport anyone that wants to live up to His teachings.

Kindness, charity and forgiveness only applies to people within their circle.

What really gets me is the Pride and happiness they show while hurting people.

Over in the conservative sub there’s barely any mention of the big beautiful bill, but what I did see struck me as very strange – people not outraged or aware of the bill content, but rather taking great delight in mocking the reaction of Dem voices on this topic.

So it seems that for some getting screwed by the big beautiful bill is worth it as long as it „owns the Dems“.

      Very weird.

There was one phrase that Al Pacino famously said in the Wallstreet movie that stuck with me: „God is an absentee landlord“. Nailed it.

    12. I absolutely love AOC. She is the very definition of aspiring to a functional, principled democracy. She is a true patriot.

    13. Saw someone say that they’re like this because they view hell as a giant concentration camp full of the undesirables so of course they don’t care about suffering.

    14. Cyndakill88 on

“Jesus will forgive me” it’s their ultimate scapegoat line that gives them permission to be the exact opposite of what they preach to be

    15. Kind of like how a few are saying they switched votes because of Jefferies speech. AKA, they were gonna vote yes, but wanted a way to cover themselves.

Unironically starving babies is pretty Christian if we’re going by history.

    17. After Laura Loomers comment yesterday all I can think about is they care about feeding Alligators more than feeding American children.

    18. Is this the new WWE? Excited to see who slams who tomorrow while they both go back to their mansions after

Sold out America for a fucking ball cap. These asshats deserve what’s coming.

And never forget most Christians in the US voted for Trump. Jesus would have been hanged if he was here today.

To me, it completely discredited the followers of the religion here.

When you remember that Christians in the US were failures from Europe that were chased out because they were too extreme for medieval Europe, it makes a lot more sense.

    21. These Christian Nationalists, white supremacists and Nazis are all evil in the name of Jesus. It’s crazy that a 3000 year old book can be used to create hate and harm their fellow man. I’m sure Trump has a lovely hotel in hell waiting for all of them. God bless them and may the devil take them. Amen.

I know this is gonna get many down votes, but here goes. How many have even read the BBB, Ill admit that I have not. Truthfully, I hate any big bills no matter from what side. To much pork to much to read and both sides have done this to many times. I saw stuff that seemed good but then as always, more pork. Wouldnt be great to read the whole bill and decide, but all we get is left/right on how it is good/bad. I would rather have several small great bills but that is not how it works.

    23. It doesn’t matter what anyone says. They have an agenda. That agenda is not a new one. It’s been worked on for the last couple years and they were pushing for a walk with it.

It’s not a political issue. It’s a moral issue. what a fucked up country United States is

AOC’s  comment about these faux Christians proclaiming their faith not through acts of compassion but by „wearing a necklace“ is priceless.

    25. Careless_Platform449 on

I’m so tired of the „worst people alive grift via performative christianity“ vibe of this whole country
