      >Using advanced plume regression techniques, the study also uncovered a surprising benefit of electric vehicles: beyond producing zero emissions, EVs create turbulence that helps dilute exhaust plumes from nearby fossil-fuelled vehicles, reducing pollution exposure for pedestrians and cyclists.

At the risk of drawing Reddit’s ire – good guy EVs out there making ICEs less harmful to bikes and pedestrians.

First time I’ve heard someone say shifting to the right creates less shit or is less harmful. /S

    3. I’m not sure where the exhaust comes out is determined by which side the driver sits? My VW is on the right already.

I don’t understand where they get their figures from, cos I’m old and I thought it was always this way, exhaust on the right. Especially trucks and buses. Or maybe things changed in recent years with most of our cars sharing DNA with European models, if not actually being built in Europe.

    5. Not driving your car every single time you leave your house could also dramatically cut roadside air pollution.
