Thankfully the UK finally cooled down today. Don’t worry, though. We’re scheduled to get our heatwave back in about a week.

30 C in Denmark. It was hot for us, but nothing compared with the rest of Europe.

    3. I work in an iron foundry, from 9 o`clock the temperature never went below 50°C

I’ve been texting my German buddy all day „Man, I’m so glad I bought this air conditioner“ lol He still says it’s too expensive, but he says it while sweating through his shorts

It was 36 C yesterday. But then today it was only 28 C and this afternoon there suddenly came a cool Ocean breeze, followed by a storm and sudden downpour! It was magical

36°C outside, 27°C inside. during the evening hours it started to rain and we’re down to 22°C outside 24°C inside now.

Can you remember the times 30 was so rare they made news about it being 30

      Good old times

The only time I went to my Keller ( basement) and actually felt comfortable. 😅

    9. In my small city it was forecasted to get to 34c, instead we got 41.5 according to multiple measurements. I was digging trenches with a shovel and it was unbearable. My apt also got to 31 and still is at 28. It cools off now, we only have 26 outside now. Northern Germany doesn’t get that hot normally. That was absolutely brutal today.

    10. Yes, it was hot, almost 40C (NRW). Anyway, as someone who is originally from Finland, what bothers me more than the heat is that the countries on this map mostly have their big/capital cities marked, but Finland has Oulunsalo, which is a random less than 10,000-people village that, apparently, doesn’t even exist anymore since 2013 (as it was merged into a bigger town). I wonder what the reason for this marking decision is, lol.

38°C in the shadow on my balcony – went to water my plants twice today (mfs drank 1l each today).

quick step outside, watering the plants (did not take more than 30 seconds), quickly getting back inside and my 26°C apartment felt ICE-COLD after that.

the last two days been horrible actually, but today was the worst

This was the strangest thing to me, I’m from South Africa where we regularly get 30-40 degree weather, but I visited Germany and Europe twice, once in 2019 June during the hearwave and again in June of last year. It’s disgustingly hot and what makes it different from our hot weather is that it feels like there’s no escape from it. Your houses aren’t built to shield from heat but it rather feels like it retains it, the supeeer long days also don’t help lol.

I was shocked when, the first time I saw how late the sun sets during Summer in northern Europe.

I like how the map is darker and redder where the heat is higher and yellower where it’s colder.. while in practice it should be other way around

    14. 39 degree and working overhours on the construction site. Id lie if i say i did not seek shelter every hour and sipped like 5 liters. Holy shit this day was horrible. This mustnt be allowed.

      european winter, african summer.

please kill me (don’t wait for the weather to do it)

    16. 40.5 per my thermometer on the balcony, in the shadow.

And that’s the outside. I live under the roof.

A few Hobbits came by earlier and mumbled something about a ring they want to throw in here.
