    1. Anybody have a list of the vendors and contractors that support this place?

    2. Not sure that’s a setback or intended in ‘alligator’ Alcatraz.

If anything sounds like more contractor money to get more funding to fix.

Those millions of dollars to setup and maintain aren’t just getting burned in a black hole. They and any people with kickbacks are making a lot of profit.

They put a concentration camp in marsh lands. Seriously, if people start dying, would we ever know?

    4. FormerUsenetUser on

They’re just hoping all the prisoners will die and save the expense of deporting them.

    5. During a flood, the guards will have to get into the cages to escape the alligators.

Honestly can’t wait for hurricane season to blow Alligator Alcatraz right out of the swamp and into his gulf of America

    7. RedditReader4031 on

Who is staffing this albatross? Logistically, how will they manage workers, food, supplies, and even evacuation?

    8. The whole point of Maga’s Alligator Auschwitz is to destroy people. They don’t care how bad it is. The cruelty is the point.

„Huge“ setback? I think headlines are written incorrectly. You know they dont gaf about flooding. This administration is as inhumane as it gets and they havent even shown us what they’re going to do to US citizens but that’s up next!

    10. But global heating isnt real. Hell, this is safest place to put anyone. Florida is actually gaining height. Many people are saying – this is true – Florida. It’s taller than ever! Bigger than Mount Everest. /s

Wait until there is a hurricane. That won’t be forecast to hit it because of his cuts.

    12. AdHopeful3801 on

      That’s not a setback.

That’s Republicans using nature to do what Nazis needed Zyklon-B to accomplish.

Everyone said I was daft to build a concentration camp on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp.

    14. I’m kinda out of the loop here you guys, but this new Alligator Auschwitz thing sounds kinda sus

    15. marlinspike on

Oh, you’re assuming they see it as a setback. That’s so quaint. Cruelty is the plan in 2025.

    16. HoldOnDearLife on

First hurricane, all the detainees will die. It’s part of the plan. The evil administration will also shut off the AC for a good laugh. I would not be surprised if an immigrant gets set free to get chased by an alligator just for shits and giggles. I hope justice happens in my lifetime.

      Alligator Auschwitz.

That is not to demean the Holocaust, but to remind everyone what is at stake.

I promise you, regular German people didn’t realize where they were headed either.

    18. Why are they so obsessed with deporting undocumented?

Literal backbone of our agriculture and construction economy being chased out. Half of all AG and quarter of all construction workers are undocumented.

Hell, look at our high tech sector, more than half of all Artificial Intelligence researchers in the United States are foreign born.

      We depend on foreigners

    19. Commercial-Hour-2417 on

Drowning US citizens at Alligator Auschwitz is a feature for the morally inept Right wing.

    20. HomoProfessionalis on

Their continued incompetence is the only golden nugget within this shit sandwich of an administration

    21. exceptyourewrong on

Everyone said I was daft to build a prison on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up!

    22. turb0_encapsulator on

this is by design. it’s much easier to commit genocide when it just happens to occur because you built your concentration camp in the worst place possible.

    23. Environmental_Cut746 on

Can we stop calling “Alligator Alcatraz” and call it what it really is…”Alligator Auschwitz” that is more accurate.

    24. This is third world country shit, and why is MAGA cheering on this when it’s an embarrassment to American construction?

    25. Dry-Nectarine-3279 on

In his first term, he wanted to secure the southern border by digging a moat and filling it with snakes and alligators. The people around him convinced him to not follow through with the stupidity of that plan. This time no grownups to tell him no. I guess the guardrails are really off.

    26. MechanicalTurkish on

If anyone here is surprised that this facility is a giant piece of shit, please raise your hand.

    27. Setback? It’s just a giant grift machine at the end of the day. Absolutely nobody directing this project actually gives a shit if it ever gets built or not. They just want that sweet sweet federal contract money. Hell, I bet they love the fact that it’s flooding. They’ll hand out another big contract to Desantis‘ cousin who just launched a water pumping business.

    28. To-Far-Away-Times on

It’s another racist Trumpcentration camp, so it should have a more fitting name: Alligator Auschwitz

    29. chasingthewhiteroom on

The entire point of this building is to have it eventually wash away in a hurricane. They placed it below water level in the middle of a south Florida swamp and turned off the hurricane satellites.

      MASS DEATH IS THE GOAL.

At this point, our job is evidence collection. They’ve committed to their pogrom. We need to be waiting on the other side with receipts.
