Just remember this next time the DoJ suits who failed the country next time they whine about „national security“. Lot of people had to choose to not do their job for us to get to this point.

One would think the US had learned their lessons after the internment camps for the japanese-americans. Obviously the US has the long-term memory of a goldfish…

Trump could not even stay focused when he debuted his concentration camp.

      >When asked how long detainees are expected to remain at the detention center, the president replied, „I’m gonna spend a lot. This is my home state. I love it. I’ll spend a lot of time here,“ sidestepping the actual question.

      >The president’s unexpected answer sparked concern, prompting political commentators to question his cognitive well-being.

    5. Just think of all the merchandizing opportunities that the Nazis missed out on for Auschwitz and Dachau

This regime will fall one day and the ones who come after need to go after the ones who created this. This has human rights violations all over it.

I am preparing myself to see news about disease and natural disasters having catastrophic effects on the poor people housed there. At least some cops will go along with them.

The official White House Instagram page posted an image of Trump standing next to a bunch of literal Alligators wearing ICE hats. This is not a serious country.

There is at least one video showing masked men getting out of their SUV and chasing a woman across the street trying to grab her and stuff her in their car.

The governor of California needs to deploy the militia.

I’m glad this article finally brought up the issue of hurricanes. My first thought when I saw this glorified tent was horror, imagining a Cat 3 or, God Forbid, Cat 4 or 5 hurricane bearing down on southern Florida and the DHS employees abandoning the detainees in place. I just have no words to describe my fear for those who end up in this facility and my disgust with the people who made it possible.

    11. Using Florida national guard JAG officers is a blatant violation under Arizona v. US. Not even the Supreme Court is going to bless this concentration camp if it returns to them.

My state officials are hawking concentration camp merch dude. Get me OUT of here 💀

    13. They’re peddling fucking merch, and posing outside in tactical gear cosplay. What in the actual fuck have we become?

    14. Republicans and their supporters will almost assuredly experience some fairly harsh backlash for all of this. The pendulum will swing.

If you want to see how true this is, find the earliest New York Times reporting on Dachau from the 1930s. Practically identical to this

No matter what title it gets, everyone, every writer, journalist and person mentioning it should go out of their way to use the words concentration camp. It’s exactly what it is. Let them try to scold anyone for it.

    17. Worldly_Anybody_9219 on

Having a concentration camp with its own merch and celebrating dehumanizing people to that extent is one of the most grotesque things I’ve ever seen or heard about happening in a modern Western country.
