Mamdani needs to say that the NYPD will arrest Trump if he ever comes to New York when he is mayor.
Mamdani is exactly the sort of politician the Democratic Party desperately needs! He puts the common good above politics and is not afraid to stand up to the would-be dictator.
Needless to say, Trump’s threats of deportation are completely bogus and based on making freedom of speech a crime — which is not yet part of the US Constitution.

This is the President of the United States, the alleged leader of the free world making a false claim a nominee for mayor of NYC is an illegal immigrant who should be deported. And saying he’d arrest him if he became mayor and didn’t support ICE tactics is what a bully without morals would do, not our Commander-in-Chief. I swear, each day he’s president it just gets worse and worse. A pox on anyone who voted for Trump and to anyone who didn’t bother to vote, may you get adult acne.
Focusing on Trump is good, it feeds the base. Just don’t do it too hard. Make sure to take excellent care of New York.

i’m so sick of this administration. their policies and conspiracy theories are always rooted in racism and pure idiocy. i’m also sick of them denying it! republicans are getting dumber by the day and legit trying to turn this country into a super poor super white super uneducated super unhealthy place.
zohran is one of the few if not the only thing giving me hope right now. the dnc is so out of touch. the candidates they’re testing the water with so far are never going to win. the dnc is full of cowards who are afraid of zohran too!

Okay, NYC. We’re doing this. I mean, I don’t disagree with him at all. We have to stand up to this. But I’d bet 50% chance Trump instantly folds, 50% chance Trump sends armed forces to abduct Mamdani if he wins (or maybe even earlier). Mamdani is brave and going in eyes wide open. But holy shit this is terrifying. There’s knowing things are bad academically vs potentially preparing for Nazis marching on your city to take your mayor.
He’ll be disappeared and the news cycle will move on a week later. We just had politicians assassinated, and the country moved on in a few days.
