Ro Khanna (D-Calif.).

The whole point of hillbilly elegy is that Hillbillies are dumb and deserve it

Americans glorify ignorance, greed, and malice. It’s a mental illness.

    3. Not only is Vance’s statement absurd as he claims that actively harming the poorest among us is not important, but his statement is also false.

The nonpartisan CBO has [said](https://www.cbo.gov/publication/60165) immigrants actually help *lower* budget deficits.

„People are rightly noting that kicking millions off of Medicaid is not ‚minutiae,‘ but the premise is wrong here too. Of the reasons to deport undocumented immigrants, federal fiscal health is one of the worst ones. CBO found they *lower* deficits by ~$1T over the next 10 years,“ Ernie Tedeschi, director of the Budget Lab at Yale, [wrote](https://x.com/ernietedeschi/status/1940020724128739606) in a post on X. „That’s because undocumented immigrants tend to pay taxes funding programs like Medicare & Social Security (despite the stereotype, most undocumented immigrants who work are above the table) but are often ineligible to receive benefits.“

His family would’ve been absolutely dependent on Medicaid. Also his mother is an addict and this bill cuts access to treatment for addicts like her. He’s such a “hillbilly hypocrite”!

    5. I read Hillbilly Elegy and was not impressed. At one point early in the book Vance tacitly defends “hillbilly justice” when telling a story about how people would “disappear” if they were accused of certain acts and nobody would ever ask any questions. Basically, defending vigilante murder of individuals.

Yet now he is Mr “law and order”? Yeah, fuck that noise.

      The Douche-Uh says it’s minutiae

Edit: Peter Pink n Thiel happened to him, they share mascara hacks, oh, and money A LOT OF MONEY

Conservatives across the country are cheering this as they all believe in what Vance is saying. Remember that, they wanted this because to them rich people should always be the priority.

Why would he care when rural people will never abandon Trump? They’d rather die sick in a hospital bed up to their ears in medical debt than to turn on Trump/Vance.

Always been a fake POS. He just finally found the “right” boot to lick and is unabashed about it now.

    10. I see Murkowski yet again is showing she loves getting on her knees after pretending to have a vague sense of care for the country.

Because he knows, like all republicans, when the bad things happen, they can just blame those Leftists Socialists, and get re-elected

I empathize wholeheartedly with everyone that will be struggling with these cuts.

I also hope it serves as a lesson learned that you can never trust republican ever again.

If we could instead always refer to the memeboi as „Thiel’s Automaton“ that would be more helpful. Thank you!

    14. What happened?…simply money and power. That is assuming he ever felt anything for poor people in the first place.

So who are the ones to lose their Medicaid? I hope it’s my parents, cuz they voted for this. Oh, and they should both give their hips back from the government subsidized surgery they had last year.

    16. You got in bed with Peter thiel and wanted to get make sure all that budget went to the ice

Vance is not an actual hillbilly. My father was an actual hillbilly (as were his parents and most of his other relatives). He believed in supporting your neighbors and fellow citizens. He knew that disaster can fall on anyone who is not wealthy. Ivy League Vance will never be poor so he doesn’t care.

Just remember, he now thinks of human lives as minutiae. Peter Thiele would be proud.

Lest you were unaware. Appalachia has hated him since he wrote that book – calling him a fraud.

It takes more than calling your grandparents mee maw and pee paw. The guy grew up in a suburb of Cincinnati

The first thing to do when you pull yourself up by your bootstraps is to write a memoir, and the second thing to do is pretend you never pulled yourself up by your bootstraps in the first place.

    21. If you read the book (can’t recommend), you’d see he looks down his nose at them the whole time. It was a grift, same as usual.

The eyes are the windows to one’s soul, and this dude has abyssal black pits there

    23. You can’t make America white again without making cuts. When the millions are gone and it’s just you and the billionaires who do you think will be forced into servitude

    24. If Vance considers some of his fellow Americans as sub-humans unworthy of basic health care, he is unfit to be in public service at any level.

If you are not registered to vote, you need to.

Ending medicaid means that tens of thousands of nursing homes across the country will close, leaving grandma to die alone and scared in the dark when the staff leaves and the power is cut off.
