Holy cow, they’re selling concentration camp merch? Even the Nazi PR machine wasn’t that craven.

Andersonville. Also, what we did to all those poor Japanese Californians in the 40s. This isn’t the first is my point. Hope like hell it’s the last.

Fred Korematsu would disagree with the „first“ claim.

With this and the bill passing, I say this:
We were never meant to have a two party system. You are watching malicious compliance to fascism in real time, and this happened with the Nazi party when they gained support the right wing. You then watched the left wing just go with it as they no longer had any power, and watched public support dwindle.
The Nazi party used radio programs, newspapers, social events, film…whatever media that had just recently become available to masses as opposed to the privileged classes, to manipulate German’s into blaming their struggles on the “evil non-aryans” and that they were the abused peoples who were actually far superior to anyone else. Germany was “The German Empire” all the way up until 1918, and with any empire the working class and poor were not highly educated and felt great anger about the end of WWI. You also have the prior privileged class, who still believe they are deserving of more for less, agreeing that their circumstances are worse now because of an “other”. They tapped into those feelings, they used media that was at one time not attainable to the masses, therefore making them more vulnerable to their influence and having them feel they were being considered.
It is an absolute travesty and farce, to say we cannot compare to what is happening now in this country to the rise of Nazi Germany. It’s quite frankly embarrassing that we have millions of Americans who refuse to see it, or speak to it. The far right saw that they could move from fringe radio and local television stations, to 24 hour news channels and personalized outreach through Social Media platforms, manipulation of algorithms, and online advertising. They saw, through the increasing access to the world, what people were upset about and used that technology to tap into it. They spoke to these angry and many disturbed people, in a way that made them feel intelligent and “better” than the “other”. The other could be the 1% with wealth, the other could be the immigrants “taking their jobs and opportunities”, or the other could simply be someone who has more education than them. As the Nazi’s did, they offered validation to a group of people who didn’t need mere validation but mental healthcare and/or a proper education. For years, our schools have been underfunded – and “no child left behind” has proven to be a disaster. You have millions of Americans who read at a 5th grade level – and the far right used all of this to appeal to the masses who never used to get into politics and forced the Republican Party to collaborate with them in order to get votes. They sold their souls for power, and we are now watching a Democratic Party FAIL to understand where they are seriously lacking and just roll over and drool if it means they get to stick around – damning us all.
We are now watching them build and monetize labor camps.
We ALL need to wake up. None of this is normal; none of this is okay.

If you are unfortunate enough to end up in one of these facilities can you volunteer/opt for release and deportation?
Or is this a holding facility until you are processed and a decision is made regarding your intent to stay?
Can you essentially plead guilty and get deported in an expedited manor?

Not even close to America’s first concentration camp. Not even America’s first modern day concentration camp.
Not even Trump’s first concentration camp.
Did y’all just forget about the children in cages along the southern border his first term?

I just don’t know what we- as individuals- are supposed to be doing. I know Bernie and AOC have done some rallys, Newsome spoke up in Cali about ICE, but we really need a national figure/org like an Obama providing some guidance, unifying action. Some kind of machinery to slow/stop this has got to start materializing.
Remember when the Right was worried the left was building FEMA camps…?

This whole situation is a tragedy and a disgrace, but definitely not the US’s first concentration camp. Just the most recent.

UK predicted this. Y’all should watch their dystopian[„Years and Years“](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Years_and_Years_(TV_series)) charting the rise of populism culminated by unhealthy detention camps.
