      Murkowski is a Republican and part of the Republican majority that voters elected in 2024.

      We can be disappointed with this result, but we shouldn’t be surprised.

      Murkowski and Collins just take turns, they pick the people they will allow to vote now and make sure the right number of Republicans vote for the bill.

      This is a woman who won as a write in after a right wing tea party challenger beat her in the primary. If anyone could survive going against Trump among the republicans, it is her. Plus, she’s not up for reelection until 28. Trump will have made sure his name is mud by then.

      That she voted for this shows she’s not the independent minded senator many of us hoped she was.

      Amazing how millions of Americans voted to turn their own country into a total shithole. We had so much, folks. We were the envy of the world. Our founders trusted us to keep the torch of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness lit. Now everything is for sale and everything must go!

      I have long believed Sullivan is easy picking in 2026. I now also believe Murkowski is in 2028.

      38% of Alaskans are on Medicaid. This should pretty much decimate their entire health care system. She’s going to wind up in Dubai.

      What’s more foreboding to me is how none of the Republicans are operating as if there will ever be a post-Trump world. They know how harmful and unpopular this bill is (and how, at least on paper, will be punished for it in the midterms), yet vote for it anyway not based on merit but to please Trump. It’s as if they are operating under the guarantee that they’ll remain in power forever.
