Heute hatte ich eine Lieferung an einen Kunden. Sie öffnete die Tür, griff nach dem Essen und fragte:
I said, “Ja klar, bin gespannt,” and she went inside.
Dann kam sie mit einer ganzen Gefrierschublade voller Eiscreme zurück.
She laughed and said, “Weil ich nie wieder zu Hause habe.”
I picked one, smiling, and told her, “Das ist tausendmal besser als Bargeld..”
Und es war wirklich. Wahrscheinlich wegen ihrer gesamten positiven, optimistischen Atmosphäre.
Und später fand ich heraus, dass sie 3,5 € online über dieser süßen Eisgeste tippte.

This is the second „Germans are awesome“ post I see today.. My god you people are desperate…
I delivered (post and food) in my past and since then I‘m always tipping a good tipp and sometimes I do things like that too. At Christmas time I usually place a box with chocolate bars and other stuff at my door step with a note for the drivers to take some. It‘s these small gestures which made my day a lot sweeter when I was delivering. When I was a postman I had a small shop for art supplies on my route. The owner was always very nice and warm hearted, on cold days he made me a hot cacao and offered me a arm chair to take a little break and have some really nice chats about philosophical thought and „ Gott und die Welt“. At Christmas he gifted me a self made Lebkuchenhaus on a really nice and big ceramic fruit bowl (which i‘ve used for years) with a twenty € note sticked to it. (This was right after the € was introduced and 20€ was like more less like 40€ today, so this was extraordinary generous. I was baffled for real. I think this changed something in me and since I‘m trying to be nicer to „service personnel“ in general.
In the end I wouldn‘t say „germans“ are awesome. I had way more shitty people on all my tours and routes delivering stuff that I couldn’t afford at that time. I would say „People are awesome“ as there are always some people proofing my misanthropic thoughts to be wrong.
