Start the Medicare for all campaign now through the election cycle.
They tell you it’s for the working class, then slash Medicaid and SNAP. That’s a highway robbery against everyday people
Now I want to know what are you and other Dems going to do about it, with the midterms next year.
Would be nice to see the party not fumble the opportunity here to show voters , that Republicans lied and are gaslighting the public on what’s in this bill

You know, I’m really impressed by how far she’s come over the past 7 years. Like, back in 2018 AOC felt like a complete joke who had no experience and no idea what she was doing. You could tell she cared about people, but it was clear she didn’t really understand her office when she was first elected. However, over the last several years it’s become clear that she’s learned a lot and has honestly adapted very well to her position. Now, in 2025 I actually respect and agree with her most of the time. It’s nice to see positive growth from a politician for a change. We need more young people like her to get involved in politics.
You can’t betray working families if you never cared about them to begin with.

In 1789, the French monarchy ran out of money. They’d racked up huge deficits through a combination of foreign intervention, meager social programs to maintain a semblance of social order, and supporting the lifestyles of the nobility. Their biggest problem is that they’d exempted their wealthiest citizens from paying all or nearly all taxes, and they were incapable of collecting sufficient revenue without major reforms to the system. Interest payments ballooned, and took up so much of the national budget that there wasn’t enough room to spend money on anything else. They had to give up on their international interests, cut back on the meager spending they made to the poor, and when climate emergencies like the French crop failure of 1788 hit, there was nothing they could do to relieve the suffering.
Anyway, they eventually figured it all out and nothing of interest happened for the next 30 years of their history. I bring this up for no reason whatsoever.
Class warfare, plain and simple.
Working class people voted for this. Now, they are going to finally pay a dear price for their stupidity and hatred.
Hopefully we’re going to see attack ads on every Republican that supported this thing, tying deaths and trauma out of this nightmare directly to them. Never let the constituents forget that their friends and family barely scraping by on Medicaid or SNAP or another assistance program got hurt by this.
Won’t reach everyone, the denial is strong, but it will reach some.
Can’t wait for the „counterweight“ to swing back, overcorrecting this controversy. I hope there’s still a country left to save when the time comes.

Can someone ELI5 why rich people get tax cuts? Wouldn’t it make more sense for rich people to pay more taxes because they make more? And the less you make the less taxes you have to pay? Like make it make sense? Why does American run this way?
The “Big Ugly Bill” will kick over 16 million off health insurance, make the largest cuts to DHS in history, & make higher education less affordable. The lower class will lose about $1,600 every year. The middle class will gain 0.5 to 0.8 percent; about $500-$100 a year. The upper class making $700,000 a year will see a $12,000 boost. This figure doesn’t count the massive estate tax giveaways. The rich in the top 10% of income will get 68% of benefits. Now, what did these Trumpsters say about Trump being for the working class/the poor?
I don’t think conservatives can pretend to be for smaller government when they passed a spending bill with the word big in it.
Boy I’m really glad the moderate Third Way centrists catering to the moving-goalpost as defined by Republicans has been so successful for Democrats. We sure did take all branches of government and save the country, didn’t we.

I know everybody’s up in arms about Medicaid and that will have a big impact on daily life, but with the infinite ICE budget and the newly official ability to ignore the courts, I’m somehow even more concerned about the police state aspects of this bill. Even if they were to completely repeal all the aspects of Medicaid, there’s still so so so so much more to be concerned about here.
On the other hand the impact to daily life is what will be needed to wake people up… so… idk.
(The Medicaid cut is also part of their extremely deep attack on education. Medicaid funds school nurses, Speech/Language/Occupational/Behavioral therapies for kids in publics schools. Without those services, it’s that much more for teachers to just have to handle on their own, which result in an additional amount of crazy burnout among teachers. Those kids will require more teacher focus just to stay in their chairs, taking away from everyone’s ability to learn.)
