    1. Except when I call these people complaining about racism out, it’s Georgians that come out to defend them.

Some people shocked and amazed to discover that other people have different experiences from them. Other people shocked and amazed to discover that the first people don’t empathize with them when they haven’t had the same experiences. That’s a microcosm of the entire shitfilled human history and you just saw it in the space of mere hours on r/sakartvelo

Not a coincidence , „Sakartvelo is not safe , trigered my post“.

If you are so unhappy in your own country why not leaving? Go live in the UE , maybe you will have your dream life there.

    5. If you don’t like living or staying in Georgia, you can leave as easy as you come here. You’re not forced to stay.of course in every country there are different types of people,i doubt if you acted as a guest you had experienced any harassment.there’s no need to act like we own you something, just walk in our beautiful streets, take pictures, enjoy your stay but keep in mind that you’re not privileged here, you’re just human as we .

translation: Im a woman in Georgia, possibly part of some other minority as well / Im a digital nomad straight white dude.

    7. As a woman you get harassed here. As a woman you get harassed everywhere.

Just yesterday I had to report a bolt driver because he was sending me very inappropriate messages after the ride.

My previous address was Japan where I caught a guy trying to upskirt me.

Before Japan I lived in Portugal, where I was not just harassed a lot, 3 guys physically attacked and beat me up.

Before Japan I was in Indonesia, where a motorcyclist groped my breasts at a red traffic light.

Before Indonesia I lived in Germany where a grown ass guy tried to touch my vagina in a public pool (I was obviously a teenager then).

It doesn’t mean a country is good or bad. As a woman/girl/female presenting human you encounter harassment everywhere, simply for existing. Do you think it’s a coincidence that my sisters across the entire globe collectively chose the bear?

The truth lies in the middle, Georgia is neither a hellhole of danger nor some fairytale kingdom where grandma hands you khinkali and everyone greets you with a supra and a folk song.
You see this country is still struggling with civic education and basic social awareness like many others, right? So stay cautious, and maybe, just maybe, learn some basic self defense ppl. Learn awareness, do your research before you come. Understand where you’re going. Learn defense or stay home. Danger exists everywhere.

And to the author of the 2nd post… you kinda have some audacity acting like Georgia’s official welcome committee ☠️
