Danke, Oberster Gerichtshof! Es ist jetzt mein Recht, mein Kind daran zu hindern, etwas über Trump zu lernen

As Justice Samuel Alito wrote in his opinion regarding the use of LGBTQ+ books in schools, some “*Americans wish to present a different moral message to their children. And their ability to present that message is undermined when the exact opposite message is positively reinforced in the public school classroom at a very young age.*”

Exactly. I wish to present a moral message to my children that when a man is found liable for sexual abuse and has been heard saying things like “I moved on her like a bitch” and “she’s now got the big phony tits and everything” and “Grab ’em by the pussy,” that man is deemed loathsome by civil society and not voted into the office of the presidency.

That wish is undermined by any book or teacher exposing my student to the fact that Trump is president.

McConnell who probably doesn’t know what day of the year it is currently and RBG also send their regards.

McConnell played a VERY dirty game during Obama’s finally term and history will not be to kind on him.

Well, well, well, here we are in the 21st. century and the idiom; „A double-edged sword“ is as relevant as ever.

      > The decision will allow any parents to object to any subject, with the potential to sow chaos in schools, and impact students, parents, educators, authors, and publishers.

Right, but they think that’s great since they also don’t think public education should exist. Any chaos they inject into education or free press as a side effect of hurting LGTBQ+ people is a bonus, from their perspective.

    5. I think we need books to mention trump, but not in a positive light. Essentially just as teaching of slavery and other dark periods of time, we need to illustrate all that was wrong to ensure it wont happen again. He needs to be an example of how bad things can be and the dangers of the US. And precisely, he needs to be shown as the felon that he is, an insurrection supporter, and worst president in modern history.

But lessons like where they try to put into question the election, or try to indoctrinate children with religion. Those will for sure be opted out and avoided like a plague.

On the contrary, we should teach our future generations everything we can about this odious, repulsive monster and his horrendous, illegal acts. And teach them just like that, as they should be. We need to make sure that our future generations know what to watch out for and what to avoid like the plague.

I love these snarky little posts.

They’re all based on the assumption that the right wing is going to apply the standard in good faith.

It’s the same nonsense with people saying they’re going to get the Satanic Temple into schools now that the Ten Commandments is getting posted.

Sorry to ruin the parade but that’s not how this will work in practice. Just like the law protects but doesn’t bind the in crowd, and binds but doesn’t protect the out crowd. Free speech will be allowed for what they approve of, not what you approve of. Especially about dear leader.

Sooo, whats the playbook here? I certainly dont want my children to learn about Maga or this immoral, corrupt buffoon. Im just not sure liberals have the coordination to make it happen

Does this mean parents can opt out of the “1776” propaganda being forced by Republicans?

I hope this person is serious. If they are just saying this for this article, fuck off.

What about parents that are opposed to their children being subjected to the Bible? False narratives about the US Civil War? This has the potential of being a double edged sword for the right. I guess I’ll be happy for that 🙃
