Tap water is good for plants, however some plants are more sensitive than others and require bottled water or dehumidifier/ac water.

For the average plant tap water will do.

I always used tap water, definitely not wasting bottled water on my plants 😅 If you can fill a bucket and leave it for 24H before using even better, gives the chlorine enough time to evaporate

I put tap water through a Britta filter for mine to remove chlorine. A Deliciosa is probably hardy enough to be fine with tap water but other more finicky plants may not.

The chlorine in the water isn’t very good for them but most plants can take it. I think more sensitive and smaller plants might suffer if you use it.

    5. Tropical plants tend to suffer with tap water in my experience. I usually use RO water for mine (RO wastewater ends up in a well I use for my garden anyway) and find they do better than when watering directly from the tap.

    6. Tap water is only not good for carnivorous plants and maybe orchids due to the high amount of hardness

I use tap water mostly, and water feom my aquarium whrn i change it. That one has nutrients for the plants

    8. My wife is an avid indoor and outdoor gardener, and we found that when spraying indoor plants with spray-bottle filled with tapwater it leaves visible layers of chalky residue over time, and inspecting the plants that didn’t make it showed calcified roots.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say tap-water kills them, but our experience switching to bottled water was definately that our plants fared better.

    9. I tested the water since the new change in it. It only has a ridiculous amount of water hardness like off the scale but the rest is bang on. So unless your plants for some reason are not good with hard water then dont use it.

    10. My father fills a bucket and leaves it for a day or two for the chlorine to dissipate. Not sure if that is effective or an old farts tale but he swears by it. 🙂

I use a mix of whatever is left over in drinking bottles/cups at the end of the day and then tap water. If I remember, I fill the watering can with tap water and leave it until the next day, I can’t even remember why but my dad had explained it to me decades ago.

    12. Those who use bottled water to water plants…. Jesus!!! reduce plastic consumption come onnnn.

Its so easy to change…u can use:
1.tap water left for a while to let chlorine evaporate
2.filtered water that drains from the ac
3.filtered water that comes out from a dehumidifier
4.waste water from an aquarium when you do a water change.

It’s a monstera, not an orchid. Any water will do fine.

However, I tend to use water from the water tank, not the one directly from the city. It has less chlorine. Alternatively you can let the water sit for a few hours for the chlorine to evaporate
