      Yeeeah. I hate to break it to people, especially coming down from the high of Mamdani beating Cuomo, but things are still bad and going to get much worse before they get better nationally. The mad king is still in charge, the gestapo will continue to terrorize Americans, and as this goes on Trump will push more and more extreme policies to meet the agenda of oligarchs and get petty revenge for criticism and resistance.

      I can’t even imagine what things will look like by 2028. Just some variation of ugly.

      Also a lot of those ICE agents are deputized militia white supremacists. They are masked so the general public can’t tell who is who and hold the state accountable for basically sending armed KKK-style thugs after families & workers.

      Also just a reminder: The immigrants they are attacking and dragging away are mostly people who should be here legally and most should have been processed as full citizens ages ago. They are deliberately kept in legal limbo by our racist system that wants to keep a perpetual workforce of migrant laborers here marginalized and always on the legal edge, so they can’t safely organize for better working conditions & wages the way regular citizens can.

      Attacks on migrants are attacks not just on ethnic communities but they are also attacks on the working class – they are attacks on labor organizing and labor power. (In fact, many of the victims of these ICE assaults and unconstitutional kidnappings have been labor organizers and union leaders.) That’s the big dirty secret of this phony anti-immigrant hysteria & racism whipped up about people who are mostly hardworking ordinary people.

      They could use that money to hire tons of immigration lawyers (even new law graduates, perhaps to have student loans forgiven for their service), but cruelty is the platform.

      This is a massive human trafficking operation. Immigration is just the facade. trump/miller are trying to disappear millions of people. Without due process, those victim’s circumstances are clearly not taken into account. Then trump/miller sends these victims to 53 random countries, likely a death sentence and/or slavery, in addition to US-based concentration camps such as the „alligator alcatraz.“

      trump/miller and their cronies are building the infrastructure to detain and traffick millions of people. Currently it’s under the guise of immigration. In the future it will likely be political dissidents, journalists, students, anyone who doesn’t fall in line behind the dictator.

      I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but who wants to bet that ICE is quietly recruiting freed January 6th convicts and members of the Proud Boys? Look at how they dress. They don’t even have uniforms. It’s like Trump has taken the insurrection and unleashed it on the entire country. America has its brown shirts.

      It strikes me that this is the opportunity for some decent folks to infiltrate ICE, gather info, and act as whistleblowers.

      Sounds like it would be easy to do, as ICE is obviously pretty indiscriminate and careless in their hiring.

      This isn’t good. ICE would have to hire more agents this means less oversight because they can’t keep track of all of those agents. There is also the problem of corruption. This large amount of money will be wasted on side projects and going into other’s pockets. Then there is the steroid effect: What happens when the job is done? it means letting ICE agents go and downsizing. Something that politicians will be afraid to do because of lobbying groups.

      Its just an all around nightmare.

      It would be nice if they actually spent some money training these new recruits. The people they have now were hired on Monday, and handed a gun and sent out into the field on Tuesday. It’s clear they haven’t been trained at all on how to interact with the public and protect the rights of the people. It’s just Zeke and Billy Bob sent out to kidnap any brown people they come across.

      As a non-American, it’s quite fascinating to watch the downfall of US democracy in real time.

      For me this is the end of the US as *the* world power. Like the fall of the Roman Empire, Colonial Empires (Britain, Spain…).

      History shows it’s inevitable but I didn’t think I would live to see it.

      What’s worrying is that usually these are linked to periods of widespread chaos/wars until a new world order is set.

      The current Conservative agenda is now 100% clear. Purge the country of all immigrants as well as the poor (any race) as well as the sick (any race). Bonus points if you are sick and poor. Strangle the United States healthcare system by implementing RFK Jr and his tactics to ensure that the sick get sicker. Supplement this with multiple voter suppression tactics and what you have left is a classic White Supremacy regime. This vision is now firmly rooted in all branches of the American government. From Mike Johnson to Pam Bondi to John Roberts…as well as controlling America’s healthcare with the RFK Jr appointment. This is all about advancing not just the white race, but the wealthy white race, with some “Christianity” sprinkled in.
