Trump has taken over Republicans and the courts. That’s really worked out well.
What’s their plan to win purple states?
The one thing the article doesn’t speak about is where donations are going. Politics is a game of monetary resources. Where is the donor class moving/staying? For the NYC election where are NYC donors going or staying?
Initial reports were that a large portion the significant single donations for Mamdani came from outside of NYC.
I’m also curious if Adams musters a coalition vote from Cuomo dropping out and 2 other lesser candidates leaving as well.
All of this will be an interesting test run / experiment. If Mamdani wins it will continue to be interesting to see policy impacts.
Especially after Gilibrand’s racist rant against Mamdani, she showed Democrats have very rogue elements in the party who are just as disturbingly bad as MAGA. Signaling they’re not up to the challenge of what’s needed for modern day America.
Bill Ackman was a MAGA mega donor, he was also a Cuomo mega donor.
This is effectively what maga has done. Its not like there is any federal democratic agenda or wins since january.

The Clintons were called Republicans-lite back in the 80s. Turns out everyone was right, they’ve always been on the payroll.

In the 2021 Buffalo mayoral race the Democratic Party funded the candidate they wanted to win over the democratic socialist candidate that want the party nomination, and he ended up winning as a write-in candidate.
The “leaders” of the Democratic Party are egoistical middle managers that don’t want to give up their lucrative position regardless of where the country is going.

The Democratic party is going to split while the GOP always marches in lockstep during elections. All because Dems demand a „perfect“ candidate, instead of lining up behind someone who would at least move the country in the correct direction. I’m not feeling great about the future.

Learn from MAGA. The neocons were totally obliterated in a single decade. The answer is not 3rd party and threats to stay home, the answer is primaries and pressuring the old guard to finally retire. „Establishment“ dems must become DINOs and progressives and democratic socialists and populist liberals must now proudly claim „Democrat“ as ours. And we need to show up in force as democrats. This is the only way until we can end the 2 party system and reform our constitution.

I really hate this framing, because the Tea Party was **not** a grassroots movement. It was a social engineered astroturfing of the Republican base funded and organized by oligarchs to push an agenda that benefitted only them.
In what reality do we actually think that there was some organic groundswell of support for reducing the taxes on millionaires and billionaires?!
The staus quo is no longer acceptable.
The destructive MAGA agenda is such that Democrats need a robust response, and that isn’t going to come from the likes of DNC Chair, Ken Martin, or passive „old guard“ figures such as Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
Disagree. The financial establishment controls both platforms. Ask David Hogg, he got on with the DNC and was used as a progressive smokescreen to obstruct the view of their non-progressive policies, then got ousted (sure he left, but this is why) and blamed for Kamala’s loss. It’s an absurd premise. You can’t relate the levels of self-induced loss the Dems are experiencing without accounting for them straight up capitulating to big money donors.
They won’t allow a takeover. The PACs and the people who donate to them won’t let this happen. So please stop giving money to the Dems and give it to AOC’s PAC instead.
