    1. Would love to be able to read the article and find out what makes him progressive. Based on his government so far he’s just conservative.

    2. Definitely more centrist – not worth arguing over which side of the fence his policies fall… that is the advantage of having someone with more centrist views – less polarizing and more focused on what they are actually doing.

    3. I tend to agree with the article Carney pretty much embodies what the modern Red Tory stands for socially liberal and fiscally responsible/conservative. Compare Carney to Mulroney, Charest, O’Toole or any other modern Red Tory and you’ll see a lot of similarities.

If the PC party still existed Carney would be a PC imo. He’d easily fit in with the centre-right modern Red Tory faction of the PC party to the right of the „left wing“ traditional Red Tories and to the left of socons and Blue Tories.

So far he’s ticked all the boxes for being a PC increased military spending, invited the king, supports resource extraction, wants to be more fiscally responsible than Trudeau, socially more status quo but not regressive, he continued social programs like dental care and cut taxes.  While I’m more of a traditional „left wing“ Red Tory I have to say I’m quite happy with Carney thus far.

Neo-liberal policies have gotten us into this mess but please, by all means, let’s just double down on them, I’m sure this time it will work

    5. As someone that would call themselves a progressive conservative, I’ve been very happy with Carney so far.

The only reason I ended up not voting for him in the last election is I think the Liberal party itself is rotten and needed the kind of deep cleaning that comes with a blowout — but if Carney is able to prove me wrong and one person at the top can truly fix the entire organization I’d be more than happy to eat crow, and so far I can say he’s proven me wrong.

maybe when its time, that people put in for a recall on this PM, as so many thought we were getting a centre left government, not centre right to extreme radical right.
